I  created my account 768 days ago, and that also may have been the last time I logged in, but still...glad I heard about this, I like free stuff. I may seem a little opportunistic, but I'm O.K. with that.

Yes...oh, wait, what was the situation?

Oh. Then no, not at all. I could see why he might be annoyed, because he hadn't gotten a chance to play it yet, but still! It's yours, do what you want with it.

" @Shasam: Mmm I see your point Shasam, but people do like to play games governed by a guide. I myself don't use guides, but at some point i would like to know some small things that might make my world easier if i knew it was there or it could be done. With bad tutorial systems and new comers that haven't experienced old game mechanics, it could be really useful.   But yeah, it would have to be pushed by the community. Don't know, felt like it could be a good idea that might get people into GB a little more.  "
I know, I know. Guides and FAQs and such are very useful, and I definitely use them, but the way you made it sound was that you wanted tips for playing that you should be told right off the bat. For me, a first play through a game should come with a certain level of discovery. You should work to find the tips and tricks for yourself, rather than being told them and therefore changing your entire experience with the game. If you love it enough to go back, and you want to know how to be better or find those super hidden secrets you didn't before then following plays should be the time to do that.

Of course, this kind of stuff goes on a case by case basis. I wouldn't have wanted to be told how the make the ultimate combo weapon in Dead Rising 2 (if there was one) if there was a chance I could have discovered it for myself, as I wouldn't want to be deprived from that feeling of badassery that came along with it.. Then again, being told not to do something because it would break the entire game is useful, and possibly something you should know from the start. In all honesty, it's probably a different strokes for different folks kind of situation. I wouldn't want to know too much going in, but if someone did then maybe it would be a good idea to have something like this around.

Well, there is a guides section on GiantBomb, so if you want to do this then go ahead? I mean, you said it could be community generated, and you can already do that.

However...just play the game. Do you really want to play a game your first time through whilst governed by someone else's tips? Especially with a game so open as Fallout: New Vegas. Just play, and have fun.

From looking at Sonic 4, it seems like they are trying to capture something that doesn't exist any more. The zones are the same. Well, not literally, but more than just in spirit. That game play is old hat now, and the whole "if it was fun once then it will be forever" isn't true in the slightest. Expectations do move on, as does society. Mario moved on over a decade ago and has tried new things over and over again. Sonic moved on, tried new things and failed SEVERAL times. Going back to what people liked 15 years ago does not make a good game, as evidenced by this.

Also, I will admit that Jeff is not the best Sonic player, but that doesn't disqualify him from taking a look at the game. Also, as far as I could tell, the game created a lot of the dead stops by having jump pads that propelled you in to walls or asking you to swing from one vine to another that's off screen. I can easily see why this game would not entertain someone, I can't easily see how someone might enjoy it. That's rare for many games I think, especially one with such a high profile.

Oh, and I loved the Sonic Rush games. I think they updated that 2D game play in to something fantastic. In my opinion, they should have taken more cues from them, instead of Sonic 1.

This is cool, I think. A step in the right direction. Of course, none of this stuff will be truly sorted until 2 years after the release of the Protoss game...so that's about 2024? Right?

Still, I think these changes are fair. The void nerf will help balance them for the early game, as will the reaper one. I don't particularly care if more people play zerg, I just know I play random and I would definitely like the zerg to no longer be the wooden spoon of choices.

I never really got in to Silent Hill, but I can imagine they are pretty scary from what I did manage to play. For me, the original Resident Evil scared the crap out of me. However, I did play that when I was about 10 in the dead of night. Me and two of my cousins pulled an all nighter to finish it, though I imagine that had we stopped I wouldn't have slept anyway.

Couldn't care less? I mean...if you're a "hardcore" enough gamer to go out and shout at people as to why a particular console is the best, then you should probably just own them all and be happy. Maybe I just notice less of this stuff because of the community here on GB (as I assume that it's mostly kids who are doing the system wars stuff anyway) but it definitely seems to have declined more and more over the last couple of years.

Of course, everyone has an opinion. 360 is the best for me, but I assume that what you're referring to is the nonsense arguments and stupid, uninformed opinions that usually go in to that type of discussion thread. So, how relevant are they? Not at all.

I can definitely see Fallout being up there, particularly with the kind of crowd that would follow Jeff on twitter. For me, it's Rock Band 3. I know, that's a really generic choice, as in the grand scheme of things nothing has really changed, but I like me some Rock Band. All I know is that when you compare the improvements in Rock Band 3 (Pro mode, Keyboards, Harmonies, etc) to those in Guitar Hero (Err...Story stuff? But, seriously, who cares?) you're getting a sequel that is damn deserved, as opposed to the usual "got to be annual" garbage.
