Hey thanks for writing this, I've added High Score Girl and Planet With to my watchlist thanks to your post.

I was a huge fan of Asobi Asobase - as with all absurdist style anime-comedies there's a lot of misses in there, but when it hit it really hit (one of the kids doing Kame-hame-ha to the principle had me rolling)

Apart from the stuff you already described better than I could, I watched Hanebado (average, sometimes nonsensical sports anime with gorgeous animation) and finally got around to watching Nichijou (amazing for the OP's alone). I'm mad at myself for watching Franxx all the way through (liked the opening arc well enough but really fell apart by the end), and My Hero Academia does just about enough to earn a weekly watch. Agree totally that it doesn't deserve it's top-spot, but that's typical of most forms of media I guess

Not sure if it's recency bias but feels like I enjoyed this episode the most out of all of them... The play going off script was fantastic, felt Chloes reaction mirrored that of the player perfectly, cool moment.

Starting to hope they somehow retcon the events of the original, kind of heartbreaking knowing what's in store...

I would recommend Rick Potion #9! The ending was top R+M moment for me.

Firstly I don't think you are being a "whiny bitch" at all - you pay up and you voiced your concern in a totally respectful way. I think you (or any other sub) are more than entitled to voice your opinions, and I hope we can all agree on that.

With that said I have to agree with Grillbar - I've never seen "premium exclusive content" as the reason for my subscription. I don't care whether content is put behind a paywall or not, I just want them to keep producing good stuff (like last weeks GOTY bonanza!). I'm fortunate to be in a position where I can afford a yearly fee, and if less premium videos means more GB content overall (by attracting new views / subs etc) then it's a price I'm more than happy to pay.

I actually really like how you phrased your question, "how is GiantBomb going to try to increase the value of GiantBomb Premium?" - maybe there's a value they can offer us which doesn't come in the form of exclusive content (and therefore doesn't harm their potential to attract new audience)... like a yearly gift card for the store, higher quality visual and audio, improved interface and response times of older archived footage... these all sound kind of lame but hopefully someone can expand on my thought better than I could ;)

@l33t_haxor Sounds like a soup of pretty gross behaviour!

@milkman Thanks a lot for taking the time to explain, this certainly makes things a little clearer! So the problem seems to be that with the influence of money, it's possible to manipulate the chances of something being deemed illegal or not.

If that's the case then I guess the problem isn't the guy that bankrolled Hogan, but the legal system which facilitates this sort of "guy with most money has larger influence over verdict" scenario.... but surely if this is the way the law has been for X years, then this trial is hardly the first instance of such behaviour? So I guess I don't see it as a "dangerous precedent" but maybe a reminder? (not trying to be pedantic, just trying to reconcile it in my own head)

(Also don't want to come across as shitting exclusively on American law, where I'm from things can be just as messed up)

Anyway nothing further to add to this discussion, like most things it seems like a huge grey mess so I'm going to climb on the fence. Thanks again for the replies.

Hey I'm European so I don't really "get it" when people say this sets a bad precedent... can someone explain?

From what I know, Gawker broke the law and as punishment had to pay out a lot of money (as decided by the courts). This means they're broke so have to shut down (and their sister/daughter sites were purchased by other companies).

I understand that some rich guy they had pissed off previously helped finance the lawsuit against them, but why is that relevant? If Gawker didn't break the law, they wouldn't have to pay out so much money, and would be fine? Sounds like a big company are paying for a terrible crime... to me that sounds... good? But I've read some really scary reactions, one of which was along the lines of "Rich people can decide whats allowed and whats not"... but I don't get it... isn't it the Law (which Gawker chose to violate) that decided Gawkers fate?

I'm 100% sure oversimplifying but this is genuinely interesting to me, so if someone could fill in the blanks I'd be really grateful!

Though I'm really saddened by the news, I'm super happy that Austin has a new exciting opportunity.

All the best duder, we'll miss you.
