This game is incredible. Wonderful tutorial, varied characters that hit all the anime fighter character tropes you want. Slower normals (I think fast is 2f slower than a "fast" Street Fighter normal) and auto combos with basically automated jumpins? This game is perfect for new folks and veterans alike. You're not going to body a pro, but you can do so much with just the 100+ tutorial segments.

Melty Blood was also godlike, but I'm glad this game is at least getting a QL. It (and French Bread in general) deserves so much more from the FGC.

Oh and I got such a weird tickle out of one of Sion's trials. She still got that baseball swing into double jump air throw combos! That's some Melty-ass Melty!

@stordoff: I work at a job that's production heavy, non-physical labor. My sick days were merged into my paid time off hours. So the 2 days I would have gotten every year as sick days (yes, 2, you read that correctly) were metered out as 48 hours of PTO that I accrue weekly.

Unpaid leave is not a thing at my workplace. If you call in without PTO or medical leave time (something that people in my income bracket usually can't afford to risk investigating due to potential bills) more than 3 times in a year, you will be terminated, possibly without notice.

And this is better than a LOT of people have it in the States.

Must be nice to have paid sick days. . .

Yeah that was a pretty funny conversation to hear. Funny as in, depressing and kinda shocking. Glad Abby turned that one around even though Jeff still didn't seem to get that some people straight up don't have them, it's not even about paycheck-to-paycheck.

Persona 5 is the definition of 12-y style. That game has the most style of the year. Sometimes way too fucking busy or too much, but you can't deny it's the M O S T.

Dark days, friends.

Listening to Abby talk about music is like listening to Dan talk about food. I love y'all to death, but hoo boy can it be an interesting peek into other people's experiences.

This review got me to bite the bullet and I'm so glad I did. My kneejerk reaction to the ending was, "That's my GOTY." Thanks, Brad.

Whether I tone down throughout the year or not, I dunno. The game resonates with me on a super personal level and I can totally understand some people deciding they don't like the game -- the combat is easy and fine, the puzzles are easy -- but holy shit, if you care for theme and story and characterization in games, and the handling of the topic at hand, it is very much worth it.

I don't know if it's just this video, but the audio mix is fucking terrible, at least in that opening bit so far. Words are very muffled under that music.

Ed: Nevermind, seems to get a bit better.

This games seems like fun.

I can tell you from finishing this game once that the audio mixing is wildly hit or miss. Any driving sequence with an aerial shot will feature music that drowns out any dialogue. This feels like the worst example of, "Turn up for dialogue, turn way down for action."

It's the only thing I genuinely dislike about this and I wasn't sure if it was just a bizarre slider issue in the settings or the game itself.

This game would have been incredible as a point-and-click adventure or, better yet, a text adventure. As is, it's... something.

However, this quick look is leading to my downfall. I've already purchased this book, looking at Warhammer 40K Roleplay books to convince my gaming group to try, and generally wondering why I'm not reading more about things like the Deep Infotombs.
