Why do I keep seeing people who aren't liking the game saying they had to turn the difficulty down?

It's a weird trend I'm noticing

I thought this was weird as well. After a couple of hours I felt I had to turn the difficulty up and I definitely do not consider myself much above average at these types of games.

Also it seems some people were expecting this to have as much side content as TW3 or something? For the type of game this is, it is dense as hell. Those complaints seem way off base to me.

I pretty much loved it from the start. If you aren't getting any enjoyment now, it is probably not for you.

@quipido: I think I watched the same thing. He was just referring to Norse mythology in general and where they can go in the series

I dunno, I found Atreus to be pretty explicit about how much exploring you can do.

As someone who loved Far Cry 3 and was psyched for this, I am really glad I decided to rent and not pre-order. After playing for a few hours, everything feels so shallow. The gameplay, the story, the world. I see they tried to put some effort into the world building with the small town areas and various characters you meet, but it all comes off as super fake and uninteresting to me. I just don't care about anything that is happening at all.

I thought worst case scenario, I would care less for the story and just enjoy the gameplay, but that isn't really happening either. Playing a FPS on a console is definitely not helping, but I just came off Titanfall 2 on console and that combat was incredible. Maybe that is why this seems so uninspired and downright boring.

Also the AI seems really fucking abysmal. I really don't remember FC3 being this bad, but it's been a while.

@tyrrael: I am definitely in the camp that wants a God of War game without the same old combat. I remember feeling super tired of it while playing 3. I think they have the potential to do alot of interesting things with more deliberate, methodical combat.

I completely loved Far Cry 3, skipped 4, but now I am really finding myself attracted to the rural America setting of 5. I almost want to buy it just to run around in that world on my 4k oled. Obviously they could do some really interesting things with the story and todays political climate, but I feel like that can be a tricky thing to pull off and they might back down in a big way.

After seeing the Season pass for this game I am almost completely sold. The zombie thing does not interest me a ton since I doubt I will do anything co-op, but the Vietnam and Mars stuff is right up my alley. Also it would be nice to have Far cry 3 on console. Right now I can save $20 by preordering the gold edition with amazon prime... It is getting really tempting

Saw Call Me By Your Name the other night... What a fantastic film.

It had such a nostalgic and beautiful style to it. I have seen people describe it as "lush", which is dead on.

It was refreshing to watch a movie primarily about two people falling in love without having them constantly battle against society or their families or other social issues as major plot points in the film. You are just with them on the journey while knowing it will inevitably have to end.

And Timothee Chalamet absolutely killed it. There is no way this kid does not become a huge star.

Easily 5/5
