Games of 2015

A little later than I wanted but I like having these to look back on, it always has a game I forgot about later on.

Games I want to still try/play more:

Invisible Inc.

Xenoblade Chronicles X

Undertale

Galak-Z

List items

  • A game I loved to play and watch. Creating and playing levels was a fantastic experience between how easy it was to create levels to how easy it was to skip one you found annoying in 100 Mario Challenge.

This site took this game to another level for me with the levels the guys designed and the whole Dan/Patrick feud.

It was fantastic entertainment and I still see great levels coming out now. I hope this continues to get support because it feels like something special.

  • A game I can't stop playing to this day. The mechanics make it so easy to play but the depth just makes you want to keep playing and getting better. I've had so many friends give me the raised eyebrow about this game but then they're right there with me into the early hours of the morning. The aerial play introduces a whole new level of possibilities and my first aerial goal was one of the better feelings I've had in gaming.

Also this game has claimed two PS4 controllers where I've broken the R2 button though this seems more a criticism of the DS4's build quality.

  • I was skeptical about the controls for this game going in but man was I wrong. The tilt controls feel fantastic and the spin on a multiplayer shooter felt really refreshing. The different weapon types were fun to try out and offered very different play styles.

The campaign in this game was also a blast for me. The bosses were imaginative and that final boss was probably the best one this year. I find myself coming back to this game every few weeks and it still feels great and the multiplayer still works for me. They've provided great support for the game and I hope they keep going with it.

  • This is the place for the Taken King. I've put A TON of time into Destiny and the Taken King was a fantastic expansion. The new zone was great and the raid was a worthy followup to Vault of Glass.

I just wish they'd kept that momentum going because there's nothing making me want to come back to that game now.

  • Always have a soft spot for SC2. First game to get me to watch esports, which is fantastic fun and introduced me to some great streamers. The campaign in this final installment was very well done and I enjoyed going back into the Starcraft universe again.

I planned on playing the multiplayer, Archon mode looks like a blast, but that hasn't quite happened yet. I hope to do some of it in 2016.

  • A really cool puzzle game. I love the art style and music for this game as well. Really good controls and a rewind function prevented me from getting too frustrated. I would definitely play more of this type of puzzle game.

  • A very interesting experience. I really enjoy story in games and this had a very interesting one. It lost me a bit towards the end but the journey was still powerful. The music, art and voice acting all worked together which created a very believable world for me which is what kept me playing.

  • Campaign was a bit disappointing but the multiplayer more than made up for that.

  • Most time I've put into a Fallout game so far. But I still haven't gotten anywhere near finishing one of these games. It wasn't a transcendent experience but I definitely enjoyed the time I was playing it.
