So how did this game get all those perfect scores again? I don't see many reviewers complaining about the ending or deducting points for it.

Well, just an update for this thread, seems like Jeff doesn't like "busted games" but Skyrim gets a free pass on that one! There ya go.

Totally agree with Alex. I think maybe because Jeff is a judge he can't exactly badmouth it like someone else. And if he's just gonna take the stance of "oh well" then I don't really want to hear his opinion anyway.

@Dourin:

You don't have to remind anyone that reviews or lists or awards are opinions. Every post in this thread is an opinion. My opinion, your opinion, everyone's opinion. No one here has said anything to the contrary. So worry not about someone taking a goty award as gospel. Sure ain't me. Looks like it ain't you either. Cool.

As for Batman, you're totally right, there are technical issues with it as well. With the delay and now those issues rising up, I'd gladly take it out of the running. That's, of course, just my opinion.

How can a game that's busted on the PS3, has issues on the 360 and has technical glitches caused by updates be a GOTY contender?

Probably because it feels like it was a weaker year for videogames.

How about Portal 2? That game is perfect!

Not gonna happen. Even if it's great, it came out too early in the year. Batman, Uncharted, the big FPSes, they're all a bit too much of the same. We all know Zelda has lost its charm with not just GB but a lot of adult gamers. Skyrim and Saints Row are really the only breaths of fresh air in the past few months, but, the GB community knows where I stand on Skyrim being a goty contender. My personal pick is Dark Souls (followed by Radiant Historia) but man no site will even think about that as goty.

Not that anyone's going to read this, but.... I shoved a mace into a Sabre Tooth Tiger's mouth and absorbed its soul into a gemstone. Five minutes later, I almost killed myself chasing a cabbage down a mountain. Twenty minutes later, I turned into a werewolf and killed a dragon with my bare claws. An hour later, I got married and then mosied on over to the blacksmith where I used some ebony ore I looted off a dead pirate two days earlier in order to improve a sword that makes zombies explode, which I received from a demonic prince after clearing out a cavern of draugr using nothing more than a handful of crystals and an axe. I think that sort of variety is more than enough to overlook a handful of clipping issues. Also, the PS3 version has a 93 on Metacritic, if you care about that sort of stuff, which I might point out is HIGHER than Uncharted 3.

A handful of clipping issues? Can people here really be so ignorant? Simply reading one of the articles posted here, or reading the comments of the articles will show you how many frustrated PS3 users there are who paid for this game but can't enjoy it the way you do. You bought it on PC or 360, wonderful, but your fellow gaming brethren who bought it on PS3 are not having the same experience as you. Why aren't you sticking up for them and saying, "hey, you should be enjoying this game the way I am"? That you all enjoy the game is nice, but saying "fuck the other guys experiences as long as mine is good" is just silly to read, not only in a lol internet gaming forum sense but just a holy shit are people really that close-minded sense.

And we all know the PS3 metacritic score is an average of scores of reviews that DID NOT EVEN PLAY THE PS3 VERSION. That you even bring metacritic into your argument is basis enough to ignore the whole thing. Metacritic. Krist.

Doesn't the fact that even with the technical problems people are still putting 100+ hours into it speak to the value of the content. The game for me is so good that even though it crashes to the desktop on a semi-regular basis I still just relaunch and keep playing every time it does it. I would never put up with it on another game. It saves regularly enough that you're never more than a few minutes back anyway. Just saying I think the fact that it gets so much hype with the amount of flaws it has speaks volumes.

I'll always have a differing opinion on this than most. What it speaks volumes of to me is what consumers are willing to put up with for a product they spent their money on. I'm not one of those consumers. If you are, more power to you.
