@humanity: To put it bluntly games like GOW3 are not made anymore for a reason they don't sell, long standing franchise's are often reinventing themselves Modern Warfare, GTA 3, MGSV and Doom 2016. Kratos is a new character in all but name and who's saying you won't be locked in an arena utilizing combos and a plethora of weapons to slam, tear and dodge your way through throngs of mythical enemies.

@onarum: The PS2 & Wii were also crushed in terms of power, the PS4 install base will be 60 million before the Scorpio is even released. Neo still might be launching this year Several sources have indicated to me that PlayStation Neo launches this year, despite its E3 no-show.

Considering both Neo/Scorpio won't have exclusive software their not new gen's most people will pass if anything the generations will get longer.

There is alot of historical accuracy in BF1 I'm not saying it's 100% but the guns & vehicle behave very different compared to past Battlefields. We've seen mainly MP which is an amalgamation of the 4 years war, the single player campaign should represent the war much better.

Watch Dogs sold really well the reveal trailer for WD2 has ~10 million views and is near the top of the Amazon pre-order charts atm their seems to be alot of people interested in the game. The install base is three times higher and Ubisoft wouldn't be trying to make a movie if they didn't have confidence in WD2. Nobody was hyped for Far Cry Primal but the game sold really well.

Taking a known franchise and flipping it on its head or adding a twist is often far more interesting. Having only played GOW3 Remaster and not liking the combat or camera angles, the new look has peak my interest plus being a direct sequel has me very curious. More often than not new IP fail they are inherently very risky its much harder to grab someone attention with the unkown.

@dagas: I said short term but really what would be the point? Hardly anyone owns a 4K TV, time would be better spent improving texture quality and downsampling everybody would get the benefit.

Short term this is how you sell Neo/Scorpio to Joe Public the exact same games only better looking, no developer is going to spend time/money on 4K until the adoption rate is a sizable crowd just upscaled 4K.

Power & Exclusive's don't sell hardware COD does, XB1 has been down/flat YOY what do they have to loose? Next year will be worse they have to do something.

Agree 1000% EA are the masters speaking alot without saying much and man they do love buzzwords. Titanfall 2 looks perfect for folks bored with COD and I'm pumped for BF1 a nice refresh for Battlefielders with tons of improvements.
