"Yes, I am aware of the national statistics that say women make $.70-$.80 (at least so my history prof. says, I'm too lazy to check myself) on the $1.00 that a man makes, I'm just pissed that it's mandated in the public sector that women should have to get equal pay even when they do fewer jobs or do their jobs worse than men do."
Um.... you are aware that this bill will make it possible for men to appeal for equal pay/conditions to their female counterparts as well? It's not a 'make women get paid more' measure,  it's a 'let everyone get paid fairly' measure.

Also, I'm sure there are plenty of places where women work harder and better than the men at the same place, and get paid less. Nobody can help how well individuals do their job. It's a shame you feel your workplace is so biased, but c'est la vie. Oh, and in my office, I do the majority of the heavy lifting and storeroom clearing, for far less pay than anyone else because that's what my job entails. Sometimes in life you just have to suck it up.

I think Obama put this through so fast partly because it was one of the things he campaigned on. Besides, who was going to oppose that? If you ask me, 180 seems a fairly low statute of limitations.

It's pretty.... but I am a bit concerned how much the battle system puts me in mind of X-2. However, I have faith. :)

Drinking games - fun for all ages! :D

You say you liked FF7/FFIV/FFV and you don't know who Bahamut is?

The graphics look no where near on the level of the CGI and by adding CGi into the trailer they are telling me that just like ff78910x2 12 the game will be 70-80% cgi and 20-30% gameplay."
You're not a FF fan, and that's cool - everyone is entitled to their own valid opinion, but those percentages seem wrong to me. Where did you get them, cos I don't think any FF game I've ever played has been 80% cutscenes (which is what I assume you mean by CGI, because otherwise what are we talking? Everything in the game?) I mean, even FFVII, which I'll admit has fairly substantial cut scenes, only has about 3 hours of cut scenes in total, if that, and yet I racked up about 150 hours of playtime on it. But then, I do love to play them games! :)

But you know, I think the graphics look cool. That's my opinion. It doesn't prove you wrong, but then that's the thing about aesthetics - each to their own. I am still mega-psyched! I'm looking forward to spending my 40 quid on it, and I don't care who knows it! (My old housemates spent more than that on clothes and make up on a daily basis - gaming is a wortheir pursuit, methinks! ) :D

Meh, I kinda hate myself right now for troll feeding, but what can you do? I'm bored. lol

I wish 2010 wasn't so far away! (Either that, or I lived in Japan. But then I'd need to learn Japanese, and while that' be cool, I'd take forever....)

From the FMV I've ripped from the discs (all of it) there is roughly 51 minutes of cutscenes in FF7.

FFV = 4:46 cutscenes (M:SS)
FFVI = 8:51 cutscenes (M:SS)
FFVII = 0:51 cutscenes (H:MM)
FFVIII =  0:29 cutscenes (H:MM)
FFIX = 0:46 cutscenes (H:MM)

All five games equal about 2.9 Gigabytes of space.

"Size on Disk: 2.90 GB (3,118,804,992 bytes)"

So yea... not that many cutscenes, really.

Edit: These times are the total amount of time that is Full Motion Video (the CG cutscenes everyone was referring to). This counts all little cutscenes (like the FMV for going up an elevator or going on the tram to that circus place in FFVII)."
Thankee- i did always wonder. lol

So I'm accustomed to having rather detailed and vivid dreams that occasionally take me a few moments after waking to knowledge as fantasy (most of which, I'm not ashamed to admit, are made of awesome and win! I battled zombies with Bruce Campbell, man!). When I'm sick, they apparently get weirder. Last night I found myself deep in Pokemon land, wandering across an epic landscape, battling other trainers (crushing them to dust!) with my fearsome Charizard, Golduck, and Buneary (it was a fever dream, so please forgive me that last one...).

The thing is, the world wasn't 'realistic' - as in, we weren't magically transported to Kanto or anything - but was in fact a cyber-world where trainers from all over the globe could meet and quest and battle without leaving the comfort of their own rooms. Yes, that's right. I dreamed about the Pokemon MMO!

Seriously, WTF? I haven't even played hat game in months. lol. But it did get me thinking: a Pokemon MMO might work pretty well. The structure of the game as is is pretty much a 'pass a random trainer, battle them, move on' one, so why not make those random trainers real random trainers? There might actually be some value then in building your squad stats a certain way, and having different teams for different regions. And there could be a tournament system, and co-op battling.....   I think with a little re-jigging of the main objective 9not everyone can be number one, but everyone could beat the elite 4, etc) it could be pretty fun. Not that I'd pay for it, mind you. Well, not a tenner a month anyway, but still, it's a thought.

Remember peeps, if it happens, you heard it here first! And I will then move on to predicting lotto numbers....lol

Peace.

Toejam and Earl 1, 2, and 3! :)  Also, I'd enjoy Black and White, and Double Dragon or Stryker.... Not to mention the old TMNT arcade game.

"There was actually a TV show based off of the White Wolf game (at least they said it was, and they called some people by their clans). I think it had like three episodes on the Sci-fi channel or something. I remember watching the pilot... it wasn't very good. It was like a soap opera."
That, my friend, was the god awful 'Kindred' to which I was alluding. It had 8 episodes, but none of them were watchable. The pilot has vamps running about in daylight, for pete's sake (ok, technically it was 'just before sunrise' so the sky was blue/grey, but it looked like a cloudy afternoon). Dialog, acting, direction were all below par with any daytime soap currently kicking about, and they clearly didn't give a crap about the mythology. I made the mistake of trying to watch it once. Shame on me. lol

"trying to find a new copy, not easy... and the game aint even that friggin old"
Yeah.... after the company went bust, it became really hard to find it anywhere. My disk 2 broke and I'm sad to say I had to resort to downloading a new copy. I figure it's OK 'cos I bought it already, and since they've sadly already died, it doesn't hurt anyone..... if u really get stuck, you could always go to the dark side. It is def worth a play if u can get it!

"I totally dug this game when it came out (played as a few different clans), but I kind of doubt we'll see another one like this. Whatever setting this game is based on (can't remember what White Wolf calls it...might just have been "Masquerade") is no longer used, as they moved on to something else, which I think is called "The Requiem".  I suppose that doesn't kill the chance of another game just based around Requiem, but this game was buggy and unsuccessful enough that I doubt we'd see another. Damn shame.
I also feel like the nation is kind of saturated on Vampire-based stuff lately, with all the TV shows and movies. Though Masquerade is a lot deeper than those simply because it's based off a pen and paper RPG, I don't think the public is quite ready or willing for it.
"
Yeah..... Requiem is kinda cool too tho, so I'd be up for that. (Daeva would be a fun clan to play - who doesn't love a vice or two? ;)  )
Bloodlines got a raw deal. Sure it was buggy as hell, but the patches were fixing that. And the story and world were damn cool. I think had Troika not been on the verge of imploding, it could have been better marketed and maybe done a bit better..... sigh, but why look back.

Vampire stuff kicking about on TV and movies atm is annoying my head, to be honest. Twilight in particular - how can a book/movie about vampires contain so little ass kicking? lol Apparently nowadays vampire = emo as all hell. Anyway, I'm not holding my breath for expansion of the universe via tv/movie/more games or anything, but it's fun to speculate purely for the lols. :)  I often wish I'd had the chance to write 'Kindred': so much potential was pissed away by crappy everything!
