@el_blarfo: There's nothing wrong with the combo — hell, had it been a playdate video (or even UPF, where everyone would be asking for clarification anyway), this would have been perfect. It's more that an “Unfinished” video could really use more information about what the game is and how it works than what ended up here.
Sure, as it being unfinished, things are likely to change before release so it might not be worth a deep dive, but this still feels more like a format that should go into those things than just being a bunch of unexplained chaotic shenanigans. There's a time and place for that content too; this needs more structure and information.
Somehow, this demonstration managed to make even less sense than the Bombcast stream-of-consciousness description of the game. For the eventual quick look, maybe it would be worth-while to not just hem and haw over decisions that are entirely opaque to anyone who hasn't already played the game extensively, and instead actually describe the thought process and mechanics behind those decisions.
Similarly, actually showing how the game works and why things are happening is probably more helpful in conveying what makes the game so catchy than just flicking through graphics and then having random stuff appear.
Huh… they're so angry about the dumb stuff that even the very simple and obvious stuff (eg weapon stats/modding) get slagged off — they're too angry to think straight, which is exactly what you want the player to feel in your loot shooter. :D
You'd think that with these two guys in charge, the sound mixing would be a bit better and not require people to half-shout to be heard over the game sound… :-/
@brad: the Premium video download links all lead to 404 pages, and trying it in the player just made it instantly stop on a black screen, again as if the video simply didn't exist for the player to load.
Now, 40 minutes later, premium video isn't even an option (but that might be due to some fiddling going on in the background).
