It's kind of a bummer, yeah. Easily the most interesting AAA project Microsoft has funded this generation. LITERALLY everything else is a sequel or multiplayer focused, which isn't really my jam.

But hey, if it wasn't working, it wasn't working. Hopefully this means Platinum can move on to make something even better.

And hopefully not a sequel.

Unless it's Vanquish 2.

Around the middle of the movie, I was fully ready to call this my favorite Star Wars movie ever, but man, they really try and tack on some shit at the end there, don't they.

I was really enjoying how confident and comfortable they seemed in telling a side story with mostly new characters that really didn't delve into fan service too hard (at least considering it's Star Wars). Then right at the end, some producer came in and said, "Yeah yeah, they died or whatever, sure. Now let's get back to the important stuff. Check it out! More Darth Vader fucking dudes up! And here's some weird CGI Princess Leia for ya! That's what these nerds want to see!".

Overall I still really enjoyed it. And, man, you can absolutely feel the fucking thousands of crew members' creative energy just bursting out of these new Star Wars movies, it's so inspiring to me. Feels like every single crew member has been dreaming of working on Star Wars their whole lives, and they're all putting everything they've got into it. They know how hard people pour over every tiny detail in anything Star Wars related, and they all tried their damnedest to make it all feel as unique and special as possible, while remaining faithful to the timeline. Really awesome to watch.

I was just thinking the other day, if they rereleased Gravity in IMAX 3D once a year, I'd go see it every time. Gravity might be my favorite movie theater experience ever, and it's the only way to see it imo.

If I had to pick one to watch right now? Probably Interstellar. The Martian's great, but it plays it a little safe for me. What can I say, I'm a 2001 guy. I'd rather be awed by the majesty of space than science the shit out of it.

I think Arrival might be better than all 3 of them, though.

Wow. Y'know, despite everything that Oculus has screwed up since launching the Rift, I was still rooting for them. They had such a positive image, and Palmer seemed like such a genuinely nice guy.

Funding fucking Trump supporter memes. Just incredible.

Fuck that dude.

Giant Bomb's the best when there's a little more of a balance between people who are more into new games and current events (which I think Patrick and Austin did well) and old school game knowledge (Jeff and Brad and really everyone right now).

I feel like that balance has been off for a while at GB west, and it's starting to make the site feel a little stale. Excited for whoever they end up pulling into their crew out there to shake it up.

Like, I can only stand to hear them argue about Majora's Mask so many times.

If he's moving to New Jersey like it seems like he is, I seriously doubt this is a goodbye.

The inevitable Dan/Vinny Kerbal mishaps will be legendary. Can't wait.

I actually really appreciated that there wasn't a big reveal at the end, it felt like a very natural conclusion to a game that was more interested in exploring the characters and their relationship than being some kind of mystery. By letting Henry voice ideas like everything being in his head, it became pretty clear pretty early on that that wasn't what they were going for here.

The story came across to me as two people trying to run away from their mistakes, and the way the ending plays out felt like both of them coming back down to earth after this magical escape they've been on. There's a real melancholic, "Oh, right, this is real life. Shit." quality to the end that I really enjoyed. You could feel both of them preparing to face their problems when they were saying goodbye, and there are no easy answers to be found.

But I didn't find the turtle so 1 star.
