Freebird: Photo of the Day 22-07-10

Little bit late with this one. But by god, is it worth it...

I must walk past this sign 10 times a week but I only noticed it for the first time last night.
Needless to say, I don't care just what these guys are selling, it cannot live up to the expectations that this sign sets.
Also, My Song of the Day segway was so weak, I decided to go meta.
...Meta-meta?
Fuck it.

Spinning in the Daffodils: Photo of the Day 20-07-10

It was a toss-up between Propane Nightmares by Pendulum and Spinning in the Daffodils by Them Crooked Vultures. I went for the one that you don't know, but should.

Now if someone can tell me what is so damn flowery about Propane Gas, thankyou very much?

Just a bit of harmless self-promotion here: I used to run a blog of movie and game reviews called Totally Opinionated and guess what, I'm running it again. It's basically a way to collect written reviews and articles about films and video-games that I'm doing at the moment. None of my Luchazine stuff will be making an appearance, but anything that doesn't make the Luchazine will probably be showcased there.

Paint it, Black: Photo of the Day 19-07-10

You need a chalkboard to keep scores if you play darts. Naturally, this just opens up all sorts of avenues for artistic abuse.

There have been reports that Miss Gills postmodern artistic masterpiece is to be adapted into both a childrens storybook and a major motion picture in the coming months.
There have been reports that Miss Gills postmodern artistic masterpiece is to be adapted into both a childrens storybook and a major motion picture in the coming months.

This was actually drawn a few days ago but seeing as today was the first time in about a week that I decided to be truly lazy and just sleep all day, I figured it was an appropriate time to catch it on [digital]film.
The story behind it is kind of retarded. Remember the house with the absurd Parking Line from that first Photo of the Day blog? Well, this whole drawing is in relation to the people who own that house/line. The other night, having finished work I caught a lift home with an old friend/ex-colleague and we sat in her car for about 30 minutes talking. The engine was turned off, there was no music and we weren't exactly being loud, because hell, it was 2am. Anyway, eventually, out of the corner of my eye I see the curtains to the crazy womans house shift open and I realise that at 2am she is stood at her window watching two people in a car harmlessly chatting. No, not watching...she was fucking staring at us. It was unbelievably creepy and my friend took it as her cue to leave (and I can't say I blame her...)
Upon entering my home and immediately locking the door behind me I told my sister about the whole thing and her interpretation is above. This crazy woman has been known to (completely at random) sweep the wall around her house, shout at unknowing civilians about cigarette ends being littered on the street (which I will admit...are mine ^_^) and obviously stare out of her window at shit that does not concern her.
Urgh. Creepy old bitch.

Rear Window 2010 aside, has anyone here seen the TV show Luther? If not you totally should check it out. It's ultimately a police procedural centering around the morality and genius of a specific cop plagued with a bad history. It's terrifically acted and written and poses some really curious questions in regards to how should we treat these evil, evil, scumbags who take advantage of everything that's good and right in the world. It recently aired on the BBC but didn't get great ratings so anybody who can help this show out on DVD should certainly check the show out.

Also, I Rock. Just so ya know.

Arriving Somewhere but Not Here: Photo of the Day 17-07-10

Sometimes I go walking just to get a sense of clarity.

No caption today because the song of the day says it all really. There's a certain charm to living in a British suburb that this picture encapsulates...you're never too far from the country and although this hill and land is between the outer limits of the city and a few nearby villages. Upon the hill, there's this great little platform that looks like it used to be a house and usually you can get a great view of the area I live, but ultimately today was fairl drab and dismal so it's something I'm going to hold back for a future photo. Perhaps an evening shot when all the lights are on. I can see myself spending a long time taking a cold winters trek back up this fucking hill.

Dreamin', I was only dreamin': Photo of the Day 16-07-10

Horses rule, ftw.

I iz up in your grill eetin' yo face!
I iz up in your grill eetin' yo face!

So, today is the day Inception came out. I don't want to say too much about any specifics of that film but, jesus, that film rules. I'm going to be posting a review of it up on the Screened site and if you haven't already added me over there you should do. Here's a link in case you're too lazy to search for me.
The Photo of the Day today was going to be something to do with town. Like maybe the cinema, or Cathedral or something but seeing as PotD is young and fresh, and this goddamn horse was just that bitchin' cool, I figured I'll capture those some other time. This horse (as well as a few others) live pretty much a quarter of the way beween my house and the city centre so I see them more or less any time that I walk into town. They're hell friendly and after taking an absolute assload of shots (fucking glamourous poser horses) I ended up stroking them for like 20 minutes through a barbed wire fence. I dig horses. Elegant and shit, yaknow?
Anyway, back on topic, the Inception review over on Screened probably won't go live for a few weeks seeing as I want to see it again before writing a review (seriously, the plot was nothing in that movie compared to the brilliance of the filmmaking itself) and I really would rather drive up to town next time I go and my test isn't until the 29th so...yeah. In a few weeks. In the meantime, I'm trying to force myself to fill up my reviews in Screened so expect a few soon.
Anyway, given that the song and blog content of this post is mostly dreams, anybody who got the Blade Runner reference with the horse gets 25 points. Sorry, did I just mention song of the day? I think I did:
(So, usually I insert the songs title into the blog title but this track has been resonating with me all fucking day, so yaknow:)

Darts of Pleasure: Photo of the Day 15-07-10

God, I meant to do so much stuff today. I ended up sleeping instead.

Proof that NinjaDart is faster than the naked eye!
Proof that NinjaDart is faster than the naked eye!

Seriously, yo, since going to bed at 5 this morning, all I've done is sleep for 12 hours, have a driving lesson, play some darts (see above) and watch a shitload of Breaking NYC.
If you don't know what Breaking NYC is, it's basically a day-to-day Vlog run by Ray William Johnson, probably the funniest guy on Youtube with =3 and a few other projects here and there. I like to think that Breaking NYC would have been my life if I'd gone to college. Truth is, though, I'm just not that cool.
Anyway, I almost completely forgot about this Photo of the Day but there is some shit I straight up didn't do.
I didn't do any of the 3 Luchazine pieces I had planned to sort out today (meaning that if I'm going to do it at all, it'll have to be tomorrow evening), I didn't get to start 3D Dot Heroes, or continue watching the show Luther on DVD. I didn't even have go lucid during any of my dreams today.
Basically, I did fuck all today.  Here's hoping tomorrow is more productive.

Abra Cadaver (The Luchazine Photo Blog) Photo of the Day 14-07-10

How's it going you bastards. I know you wanted to see this shit, so here it is:

LIKEOMGTOTALLYWTF?! THIS AIN@T NO INTERNETZZZ?!?!?!
LIKEOMGTOTALLYWTF?! THIS AIN@T NO INTERNETZZZ?!?!?!

Yeah, I finally took the time to take some photo's of the hard work I put into printing out last months Luchazine. I must be such a lazy bastard to take so long, huh?
Wrong.
Firstly, I have a full-time job which takes up, you know, most of my time. I walk four miles to and from that job which is at least an hour each way. As well as that I need to sleep, so that's approximately 15 hours of each day gone, bar 1 or 2 days off a week (If I'm lucky).
As well as that, I need to contribute to each months Luchazine and so far I end up submitting between 3 and 4 pieces a month. Add to that my obsessive gaming and movie watching as well as my newfound Photo of the Day project and you're looking at 20 minutes left per-day. I usually use that 20 minutes to make a sandwich.
Now factor in that the first print came out looking...well, kinda terrible. I attribute this issue to the ass-old printer that I used and so then had to go out and buy a new printer (which I only did yesterday) as well as some accessories (Standard paper, Glossy Paper, Spare Ink, USB Cable, etc.)
Now not only am I on the 29th hour of a single day but I've spent £140 of the £80 left in my bank. Hm.
Then I had to reprint and collect the pages before finally taking photos and uploading. The only way I could ever find time for this was via Photo of the Day, which I have no doubt will throw off some of my Facebook followers.
Oh, did I mention I write personal projects as well? And keep a dream journal? AND HAVE EVEN BEEN KNOWN TO SOCIALISE WITH OTHER HUMAN BEINGS?!?!?!
...sorry, that came off waaay more rantish than I ever intended. Let me make it up to you. I have an assload of extra pictures which as just dying to be seen...how about we consider them exclusive mega-awesome GiantBomb Bonus Pics? Yeah. Rad:

Well, that was magical. And that's my segue to the Song of the Day.
