As someone who didn't really post all that much but lurked all the time, it's sad to see things end for GAF so suddenly. It was my go to time waster. Bored at work? Browse GAF. Waiting around for whatever reason? Browse GAF.

I was in the rare group of people who almost never went to the gaming side, spending most of my time in OT threads. Despite being focused primarily on an English speaking audience, the site still brought in loads of people from all over the world. That was the most valuable part of the experience for me. Having so much exposure to so many different people of different backgrounds. It was an invaluable source of perspective in that regard. I was able to stay abreast of things going on all over the world in a way that I never had been before.

Personally, I wasn't aware of any of the previous allegations that were swept under the rug. Sounds like EvilLore was total piece of shit, and I feel sorry for all the people he victimized. Hopefully the community can still live on elsewhere, but I think it's time to start anew.

Everyone else probably also bombed the final and/or class and so he curved the shit out of the final grades, especially so if the guy didn't have tenure, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Is this like a thing now? Creating accounts just to bump threads that have been necroed for more than four years, that is.

So much modern Hip-Hop is still fantastic and creative, with MC's like DOOM, Aesop Rock, Del the Funky Homosapien to name a few. Their music just isn't necessarily as accessible to a general audience, and so they don't receive as much attention. Even more mainstream, "club banger" Hip-Hop is great too and has its place, if you keep an open mind about it and just listen for fun.

I'm never not adblocking. But still, don't the people doing this realize the insane irony of making ads about your product which blocks ads.

Fucking caffeine man. If I don't get some kind of caffeinated beverage in me by early afternoon I get a headache and just generally feel like ass for the rest of the day. That's about it though. Despite drinking pretty often and smoking a fair bit I've never been addicted to either.

But that's the thing, most atheists wouldn't sat they have "everything figured out." They don't know everything about life and the universe and believe that rational inquiry and empiricism are the only ways to find out.
