I love police games. There's too many games about playing criminals, which is cool in it's own right, but upholding the law is where it's at.

I tried Judge Dredd vs Death recently and it's really dated, but super ambitious for it's time. Kinda impressive in it's own right.

With this list, I'm trying to focus on police procedural games, in accordance with a game's particular police procedure. Meaning, even if Judge Dredd or Sam & Max are not policemen by our standards, they are in their respective game-universe, plus, the games play out according to procedure.
So, for me, stuff like the CSI games don't go on this list; but if there was a game about Captain Jim Brass, it would.

What I would like is something like GTA, but not with all that silly action of the True Crime games or Driv3r, but more believable, where you would just be a beat cop in the beginning and then rise through the ranks. Many of the games on my list have elements of that. My favorite police games are the Police Quest/SWAT series, as you might have noticed.

Considering you have Robo-cop on your list, you might want to give E-Swat for the Genesis a play. It's a pretty fun title I think but really tough though. And Dick Tracy for the Genesis is pretty decent from what I remember.
