Quicklooks I feel like were a bit more organized, planned and professionally edited. I also think quick looks were an evolution of video game reviews when videos needed to be short because of size restrictions and general trend of people not being interested in hanging on a video for hours. We have come a long way as far as content trends since 2008 or whenever.

Just another evolution, especially with covid-19 kind of forcing that evolution. Really like what the GB crew is doing still!

This was fantastic journey of a rat.

Yeah, same with original SOCOM. Halo 2 was another one that was missed, but more due to all the memories. Was still playing these games until the end, not regularly, but would definitely jump on for an afternoon or with friends for a night every few months with until the servers shutdown.

Careful browsing, and now that downloads / updates / patches are mostly free today, that is huge. I still remember the old days where you would have to go to shady sites to download some software updates, game patches, etc where you would get popup software, crappy adware in a lot of the software.

I guess now companies have offset a crummy practice of installing adware/malware/sponsored-ware to now collecting and selling all of our data to offset costs. Maybe we aren't in a better place? :/

Trying to finish Doom 2016 right now...so if nothing else, it gives me some extra time to catch up!

Really enjoyed the article, the making of the game, how outside influences really shaped the game and the press around the game. especially the commenting on how hard it is to make a war game that is appeasing all parties.

@alias: oh god. With how long that game is relative to the other Breaking Brad's he did, that could turn into thr Neverending Endurance Run, haha!

Thank you for putting this list together. Man, coming up to the end of the year, you forgot just how much craziness went on. My vote goes to Randy Pitchford or Anthem. I can't even believe that Anthem shipped.

Eh, if is a fine remake if you don't take it too seriously as far as preserving the legacy. I looked at it as someone who played the original that Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes was just an easier version of the game for a laid back play through while looking at some upgraded graphics!

Unless they announced it dead, there is usually a significant drop in content leading up to the holidays with new games being out, GOTY stuff, and vacations.
