    Overview

Project IGI-2: Covert Strike is a First-Person Shooter that was developed by Innerloop Studios exclusively for the PC.

    Story

The player takes on the role of former SAS soldier David Jones, who now is an operative for the Institute of Geotactical Intelligence (IGI). The first mission requires Jones to infiltrate a Russian military base, gather information on the activities taking place there, and make off with the secret EMP technology currently under development. Later missions take the player to environments such as Libya and China, with the ultimate aim of preventing the world’s destruction.

    Gameplay

The game is notable for the large variety of different weapons that are on offer, from assault rifles to RPGs. The weapons were closely modeled on their real life counterparts with regard to appearance and performance characteristics. Weapons also feature realistic effects like emitting smoke from gun barrels and ejecting empty bullet cases.

Stealth plays an important part in the game, with silenced pistols and sniper rifles enabling the player to attack the enemy without being detected.

The game features online multiplayer support for up to 16 players.
