A "genealogical rouge-lite" that combines elements from "Metroidvania" platformers and roguelike games. Explore the ever-shifting rooms of Castle Hamson as a lineage of knights, with each ancestor's death potentially improving their offspring's chance for success!
Low framerate is actually an advantage in this game since there's so many shots to dodge and the like, but I'm running it on a 2006-2007 comp reasonably well; occasional hiccups during the Alexander fight is all but that could just be the game.
My computer should be able to handle Rogue Legacy, but some traits like near-sighted/far-sighted and nostalgic cause some issues. I had to lower the resolution to get a constant framerate. The developers have said they're working on stability issues.
This game is out of control. I'm have an FX-8350 and HD7970, so my rig is no slouch, and I can't play this game for more than 10 minutes tops before the framerate drops like a brick.
This on a machine that can hold a pretty solid 30FPS in Planetside 2 on High during large battles.
I'm using a 4770, and there's definitely some slowdown when shit gets crazy (weirdly, it lasts for a couple of runs after that as well), but it's a consistent, non-jerky slowdown, so I actually don't really mind since it gives me a slight advantage. I have a better card, but I want to wait until I build my new machine to break it in.
