An altar is an object usually used for sacrificial ceremonies and offerings.
Beards are visible facial follicle growth, commonly associated with adult male homo sapiens. In video games, beards are commonly found in character customization systems (i.e. Rock Band) or when pirates are involved (i.e. the Monkey Island series).

Letters are a form of written communication, which in recent times have been superseded by internet communications.
A lighthouse is a tower usually placed on the top of coastal cliffs, bearing a rotating light at the top to prevent ships from crashing into rocks.
Locks are often used to keep people out of areas or storage items. They are also used to keep things secure from being stolen. to get passed them in games you commonly lockpick or shoot them.
Here's a lockpick. It might be handy if you, the master of unlocking, take it with you.
A magnet is something, usually in a bar or horseshoe shape, that is attracted to and can, if strong enough, pull in metallic things via the force of magnetism. Video games may be a bit more liberal in what a magnet can attract and how powerful it is.
