Brad criticizing Borderlands 2 but defending (multiple times before) Destiny 2 baffles me. Borderlands 2 was a finished, polished product that was just what fans wanted. Destiny 2 on the other hand... we all know how that turned out. If anything I'd rather Gearbox not take example from the recent looter shooters (is there even a great one among them?) and stick to what they think is best.

Oh god, Ben has the same bad take as Dan Ryckert where the “mainline” 3D Marios are only 64, Sunshine, Galaxy 1-2, and Odyssey. Yep, too bad after May 2010’s Galaxy 2, no Mario game came out for 7 years until October 2017’s Odyssey.

Even if you want to set aside New Super Mario Bros. and Mario Maker for being 2D, 3D Land and 3D World are clearly part of the main list of 3D Mario games.

Every time the Halo Master Chief collection comes up and they mention it being broken, I'm like "It was the multiplayer that was broken! If you just want to play all the campaigns it's amazing!" but apparently one cannot speak to a podcast and be heard.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The steam stuff seems like a non-story.

The game has as much to do with real rape as postal and hatred have to do with real murder. Second what do you think valve is saying here?

"We respect developers’ desire to express themselves, and the purpose of Steam is to help developers find an audience, but this developer has chosen content matter and a way of representing it that makes it very difficult for us to help them do that."

It sounds like they're denouncing the content matter and how it is represented. There is literally nothing to be mad at here the issue is solved the game is banned.

I really don't need Borderlands 3 to make sweeping changes, and I'm actually worried they'll change too much. I would hate for BL3 to become an online shared world game like I keep seeing people expect. I want a co-op campaign with a fun story, side quests, and lots of unique loot to chase. That's it.

I remember being able to register my PC copy of Portal 2 before PSN exploded, so I wasn't too bothered by the whole mess, being someone who mostly focused on single-player stuff.

Well as someone who has played and completed Rape Day in about 45 minutes, I don't really think is was worth all the fuss. The game is crap, it looks like crap, and reads like some sexually frustrated edgy 10th grader wrote it. There are way many games with way worse content in them that no one is talking about. I feel like the only reason this game is being talked about at all, is because of its title and today's social climate. If this game was being made by some small Japanese developer and given a title like, "Its the zombie Apocalypse, Fuck it.", no one would be talking about this. If anything, people should be more offended by them charging money for this garbage.

but but... the point of Beats is that you don't actually wake up at any different time. Time is an arbitrary measurement. If we used Beats, we wouldn't wake up any earlier or later at that time of year. Time itself is not changing. We don't actually get more or less sunlight. We all just all pretend really hard that we are.

You can't copyright a dance move. You can copyright choreography, which is an extended collection of dance moves. It's specifically to avoid issues like the Ben Pack Dance. Backpack Kid didn't invent that dance, for one, but two: it's not a dance. It's a single move, it's wiggling your arms. Some impatient child has done that by accident a million times before it was popularised.

53:00 No, Halo: Reach's multiplayer wasn't just Halo 3 multiplayer, Halo 3 maps were remade in Halo Reach when the Halo: CE Anniversary was released.

Also just help clarify what is featured in this release:

Microsoft and 343 Industries announced that Halo: Reach will be released into the Halo: The Master Chief Collection later this year. Multiplayer, Forge, and the Theater will be provided free of charge for everyone who owns the Collection on Xbox One. The campaign & Firefight mode will require either a Xbox Game Pass or purchase.

I hate to even get hot over some stupid thing but come on duders.

Talking about not following company policy on a recorded medium and distributing it to your followers...

When it happened at one of my prior jobs, the relaxed business casual environment suddenly became policy-enforced business formal.

Jeff: "it made me wonder if we meet that minimum requirement for 'business casual'?"
NO! No you dont ha-ha. No way. Business casual may mean different things in different companies, and countries. But pretty much standard is: NO t-shirts, crocs/sandals, jeans/shorts, hooded sweatshirts, sneakers, most hats - those are not usually in a "business casual" dress code. It means more like "clean button up shirt - but hey you dont have to tuck it in always! Jeans on Friday!"

If CBS hasn't called them on it by now, its not going to happen. I assume this was made to down grade the upper management having to wear suit and tie. I linked to an article about Goldman Sachs also down grading their dress code from suits to business casual a few weeks back, (on the podcast where they talk about guy wearing same shirt over and over all week during the emails). So it seems to be an upper management trend lately? [They did say still dress up for meetings and presentations]

GB crew lucked out that they seem to be at a very laid back office, (from dress code to drinking booze [sometimes company supplied], having knives, piles of boxes around, dogs in office, etc..). Im super jealous in fact!!! But I feel even more so like I was correct in saying the guy shouldn't wear a dirty shirt to work - work has expectations - (at least in writing) - Ben said "awww let him do it", but it seems CBS's own response was, "nope". There is at least "supposed" to be a dress code.
I also feel that so many people Ive met are oblivious to what a dress code is, (HR's fault?) and what to wear to an interview. Or even that you should wear deodorant to work. First world problems i guess...

Yo I played Borderlands 2 recently? Dead-ass It doesn't hold up. It's really not funny and there are other better looter shooters to play. If Borderlands 3 is more of that style of writing and gameplay, I'm way out.

Edit: Also I have a confession: I had no idea for years and years that Super Mario All-Stars were remakes, I thought it was just a collection.

Edit edit: Why is there such hard pushback against Breath of the Wild mechanics ending up in other games? Not the way I expected that conversation to go, it could have been a more fun and positive look at games.
