I for one am glad Jeff hasn’t said the line he’s referring to.

I haven’t play Death Stranding yet and I’m looking forward to hearing and seeing all the coverage GB has done for it after I get a chance.

Welp, if I didn't already know it, this would be the point where I accepted it. I apparently have a completely out-of-whack idea as to what "good" and "bad" writing are.

That line in no way seems as bad as people are making it our to be, or reacting to it as being. Like, even having not played the game (for whole other reasons), and having no context, it seems like it's kind of a pun... in context. And people are acting like it's the most ludicrous thing they've ever heard. Like... what?

(The rest of the scene after that is kind of hilariously dramatic, but geez, this seems like a real mountain out of a molehill that a bunch of people who have already decided to hate on the game are latching onto)

@epidehl: Can someone fill me in on what line they're referring to? I've likely passed it but have heard so much laughable dialogue I'm not sure exactly what they're referring to

@epidehl: Yeah honestly I was expecting the line to actually be disgusting morally or something. Instead it's just really corny and doesnt make much sense. Jeff was being way too dramatic about how bad it is. Either that or he's referring to something entirely different.

Listening to this was like getting into a car accident, then getting out to slowly assess the damage as the frustration sets in, and then you realize you're on a train track and get flattened by a commercial freighter.

Holiday Spectacular 2019: Carol Star

Seriously, as I was reading these, this was all I could think. If they didn't talk about the game at all, people would be mad. They talk about the game, but give relatively no spoilers, people were mad. They vaguely talk around something to avoid any semblance of spoilers, people are mad.

Running a podcast where you joke around with friends as part of your job sometimes seems great, but then there are all the times like these where I wonder if podcasters, especially ones with particularly rabid fanbases, are not just always shaking their heads in frustration.

I get annoyed when people say that he's "jaded" too. Without trying to put words into their mouthes, it's pretty self-evident a large swathe of the GB crew had a difficult time after Ryan's passing. But Jeff, since his marriage and baby seems like a new man. Reinvigorated even. I think the hiring of Ben has helped too, it's great when they just get into that groove of riffing and hitting great joke one after another. OG Jeff and Ryan-esque at times.

Obviously this is just a take from the otuside looking in. Keep it going duders.

I don't think nobody bats an eye anymore about always online games. The Hitman community is one example of a community that's still vocally against it. The ruckus did die down though, compared to previous years, and I think that's because publishers have shown that they are not willing to budge on this.

And yes, this year was pretty mediocre in terms of game releases.

Outer Worlds is fantastic in how many ways you can sequence break. I always fully explored every zone before going to towns, so almost all of my quests were "Hey get this thi- wait you have it? Oh cool". Granted that caused one of my lines to end in a dead body because I guess it was timed or something (never knew till I got it and immediately failed the optional), but that's what I love about the game. That and all the ways to succeed speech checks.

Personally, I have to scratch my head at what some people consider "spoilers". Take The Outer Worlds, for example. On last week's Bombcast, they mentioned, what I would consider, some very general game-play things, along with some general impressions of the game. Nothing I would consider "spoilery". I guess some people consider those things spoilers?

Regarding stadia, perhaps one of my biggest misconceptions regarding it was the fidelity of graphics that it would produce. I recently looked into it and it seems that I was misled. Google doesn't mention anything outright, but based on what some are saying, the quality is going to be equivalent to a mid tier amd card which does not out perform my existing gtx 1080. All things considered with the release lineup and the weakness of the benefits of the paid service, I canceled my preorder and am now quite sceptical of its future.

My copy of Death Stranding just arrived, I just couldn't resist.

I don't even mind if someone is very persnickety about spoilers and wants to go into a game "completely blind" or whatever...what irks me is that they want to have their cake and eat it too. Like, if you are worried that ANYTHING is a spoiler, just skip the podcast until you play the game. It isn't going anywhere, and I would much rather they, you know, talk about new video games on the video game podcast, than not because of a small segment of the community wanting something that is mostly absurd to occur.

Before anyone says it, yes, timestamps would be helpful...but they've never done them and I doubt they ever will so just let it go.

This is the smallest nitpick, but as someone who lived in Ottawa for several years and now lives in Vancouver that is a Vancouver cop with J Allard in that image.

Actually, 529 Garage is a really rad initiative. I've yet to sign up because I bought my back a few months ago and then haven't really ridden it, but it's been really helpful in returning stolen bikes & deterring theft in the first place.

@brad Quick correction, the picture of J Allard and the cop is in Vancouver not Ottawa. It says Vancouver on the cop's shoulder badge and the building in the background is our football/soccer stadium.

In Luigi's Mansion 3 you can totally aim up and down without the motion controls and not use tank controls.
