It's weird seeing people take cover in Outriders because when I played it I just ran around with my Time Knife wrecking people. I feel like the classes other than time knife and rock man are bad.

When Jeff was trying to figure out where the shaking noise was coming from, I stopped shaking my leg and was like oh damn my bad. I'm so dumb haha.

That realistic Kirby game is horrific.

so I bought that Everhood game and it very quickly takes a turn not too long after they stopped. if you enjoy recreational drug usage I highly recommend it for that game. also Eternal Cylinder looks cool as heck. it's a good time for weird games

I don't know if this demo of Outriders is doing them a lot of favors. I've played quite a bit of it and I am still on the fence.

The tutorial makes it seem like a cover shooter, but that is definitely not the way to play it. It gives you the wrong impression right off the bat. The cover system is clunky and kinda bad and it just seems like something the enemies are supposed to use so you don't just mow them down.

I suspect the abilities will get pretty wild later in the game since even blue level items have mods that have Destiny exotic level changes. But unless you replay the demo a lot you don't get many of them so people won't really see the depth in the system.

It's nice that progress caries over to the final game, but I think a vertical slice in the middle of the game when you have more powers and higher level gear to try out would have done a better job at showing off what the game can be.

The Outriders youtube page has some great videos explaining the classes and game progression that are way more informative than this demo was.

Circuit Superstars looks like the exact type of top-down racer with some light sim elements that I've been looking for

There are people who played the demo and genuinely think it's great and those who played it and like myself think it is a very boring and uninspired product. Someone in the chat asked if I can't imagine someone else having a different opinion and yes of course yes I can - it's just after playing the same demo I don't understand where that opinion is coming from.

As someone who lives in Berkeley, I can say that Citizen posted two different instances of men wielding knives on the street in the past two weeks. Other than that, it's been fine!

Eternal Cylinder looks pretty cool. And the music sounds pretty rad. Sign me up. Definitely going to check that out. I just wish they had gotten Werner Herzog to do the narration. ;)

I worked retail for many years, I can in all likelihood confirm that the dumpster of cliff bars was there because they were near expiration, and not expired or in any way dangerous (and let's be real, expiration dates on a cliff bar are probably an arbitrary date to help rotate stock and keep wholesale demand fluctuations at more predictable levels, it's part of the wonderful world of corporate waste). Some states, like mine, have laws that certain products cannot be sold within a time frame of their listed expiration. This makes sense for milk and some baby food products, but it also includes most processed food items that probably only start to get stale sometime after the expiration date. Some stores, like mine at one point, would actually dump bleach on the discarded product to discourage diving. Not because they were afraid of people being hurt entering a dumpster, but because they didn't want people waiting for free product...

In my time, I've dumped literal truckloads of edible food in the garbage. Not proud of it. And that was just one employee at one store.

Thank you for introducing me to The Eternal Cylinder. That game is something else.

@humanity: I see where you are coming from. This game very much seems like a game made for people who like Destiny/Division style games but want a game that has an ending rather than a forever game. It is very typical of those games, warts and all. Outriders seems like a game I will drop 40 hours into and put it down forever, and I am fine with that.
