Re:Judgement

With all the stuff that happened to that actor, the creator of Rurouni Kenshin was busted for child porn and has admitted do being into underage girls. But they are still working and their character was recently in Jump Force. So that is where Japan is at with their priorities with certain crimes.

It's weird, Alex's issue with DMC is the problem I had with Bayonetta. I found that game had WAY too much as far as combos and equipment stuff, so I always felt like I way playing worse than I should have because I was overwhelmed by options. By contrast, DMC largely gives you what you can do and it's more "straightforward" I guess, which I vastly prefer. I KNOW what I can do at all times basically, whereas Bayonetta felt like it had a lot of trail and error with equipment, and no real quick way to test all of it.

I dunno, I loved every proper DMC game since 3 and something about Bayonetta never clicked.

Edit: Also just got up to this breakfast/brushing thing and is brushing before breakfast not normal? I tend to wake up with kind of a gross taste in my mouth (I brush/floss regularly fwiw), and the idea of eating immediately sounds very gross.

Correction! Austin was with you pretty much from the start of the podcast. Here's the deck from The Giant Beastcast episode 1, =) :

"Austin Walker joins us as we deliver updates on Splatoon, Danny Trejo, and Jeff's Australian accent. We also dig into topics ranging from streaming Adult Only games to the current online gaming environment."

Ubisoft was pretty clear about what you get. You get new content 7 days early, the game a few days early, and a bunch of cosmetic junk. They've stated this in the past.

I don't agree. As someone who has had to answer "well, what does that actually mean?" to people I can say this, particularly, is not very clear:

"A VIP status during Year 1, including additional assignments, rewards and discounts"

As to the brushing of teeth before breakfast, there's actually some science behind why you might.

https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/adult-health/expert-answers/brushing-your-teeth/faq-20058193

Basically, if your breakfast involves something acidic (like that morning coffee), brush beforehand for healthier teeth.

Austin was not present for the foundational Episode 0, however. (Admittedly, Bakalar wasn't present for the microphone check.)

Hence why I linked to and mentioned episode 1, and also chose to type "pretty much". =)
What I actually intended to correct, though, was that it didn't take several weeks in until Austin joined, which all three of them seemed to assume was the case.

"Pretty much" only counts in horseshoes! Your correction was no correction at all! This merely confirms my long-held suspicion that the corrections segment is fueled by those who prize attention and ruckus-rousing over a proper regard for THE FACTS.

I thought I liked Borderland 1 & 2 until I tried playing through solo, and it was odious. Like many games, it was fun playing couch co-op with my friends, because I have fun hanging out with my friends, and certainly not because Borderlands is fun, because it's painfully not fun.

I brush my teeth before breakfast every day.
My reasoning is that i usually need the toilet when i wake up, i don't really want to eat and drink with a full bladder, and since i'm in the bathroom i might as well wash and brush my teeth, then if i have time to spare i can relax and eat before going to work.
Does it taste bad? Sure, for like 1 second, then you get used to it.

@vinny "There's no big games coming out next week." How are you not super excited for Sekiro on 3/22? Its defensive focused, parry/counter-strike swordplay paired with traditional FROM exploration and world design looks SOO good. I for one can't wait.

When I wake up my mouth is nasty, and I don't want to swallow that funky taste with whatever grody filmy shit is in there from possibly having my mouth hang open while asleep and mouth breathing or whatever happens while the purported spiders are hanging out in there. If y'all wake up with pristine eat holes, then lucky you, I says.

I dont want to be the “roguelike guy” but Rogue came out in the 1980’s, Dwarf Fortress came out in 2002, and there were a looooooot of “roguelike” games between the two. I am always a little surprised when people who talk about games for a living seem so out of the loop on this particular genre’s history. It’s interesting! I recommend the book Dungeon Hacks by David L Craddock or @Play: Exploring Roguelike games by John Harris

Borderlands 2 is still the best loot shooter on the market, so I'm totally confident in Gearbox to deliver. As long as the game is actually Borderlands and not live service shared world shooter wearing a Borderlands mask.

The information has been out there, but yeah, the store pages for pre-order could have been more clear - and at least on the Xbox store, appear to have been updated with more info. The VIP status in particular was the one I was unsure of, so I looked it up and found out all the main DLC content updates were going to be free and ended up feeling comfortable just getting the standard edition. Hopefully this was just growing pains from changing models from paid DLC to early access/cosmetics for their gold/ultimate editions, the updated info on the store page is a correction to try to be more transparent, and this wasn't a way to try to trick people into pre-ordering the more expensive editions.

I brush my teeth when I get up, because I don’t notice the taste of toothpaste counteracting with breakfast. I have always found it weird when people bring this up, because I’ve never noticed it for myself.

I picked up the Siege Starscream, he's a little chunky but I really can't resist a decent Starsceam and I'm probably down for the other Seekers as well since this is the first official Tetra Jet alt mode we've gotten.

With how often I've heard Jeff be confused and be like "What, is that a thing? What are you talking about?" throughout these podcasts I refuse to believe he doesn't have Dan questions, he just doesn't realize he has Dan questions.

On the subject of Borderlands, I found Borderlands 2 somewhat exhausting and extremely obnoxious at times, which honestly is probably why Abby loved it. I enjoyed Borderlands 1 and I also thought that The Pre-sequel was an enjoyable Borderlands experience that didn't overstay its welcome like I felt 2 did. As an Australian I thought the silly Aussie humor was pretty okay at times, but it was short and sweet with some okay story beats and moments, so I finished it feeling pretty satisfied with the experience as a whole.

For me to really give a shit about Borderlands 3, those games need alot more depth, character customization and designs that isn't tied to classes would be a good start. I can't fully articulate what it is they're missing but I felt Borderlands 1-2 was a good foundation that I wanted to see Gearbox evolve into something greater, but they kind of just left it as is.

I wish there was a loot shooter that had the tone of something like Diablo or Torchlight. It doesn't need to be dark all the time, but I wish it didn't have Borderlands' attempts at humor. I think the loot in Borderlands game could be more interesting, but it's varied enough that I can still be interested in it... but every time Claptrap says something I want to turn off Borderlands 2. Maybe that's why I've never finished the Borderlands 1 dlc or finished 2? Who can say, but I just wish there was a loot shooter that was as good as some of the traditional ARPG/Diablolikes we've gotten in the past few years.

@cyrusraven: As the resident leader of the GBEast Souls-like Appreciation Club, I hope he sees the light and we get to hear his impressions after his vacation. I am certain he will realize his mistake in either forgetting or dismissing the game when he gets back into the swing of things. Also, I need to hear his thoughts on Stadia. But first, enjoy your family time, Papa Vinny, we all know you've earned it.

I always brush my teeth before going downstairs for breakfast. Not only because of convenience, but also because brushing your teeth after the acid attack of a breakfast is very harmful to your tooth enamel. The acid weakens the enamel temporary, which might lead to you brushing it off your teeth.

A typical acid attack lasts up to 30 minutes, so if you brush your teeth afterwards, make sure that there's plenty of time between eating & brushing.
