Abby’s quest for weird and colorful glasses glasses should definitely go through zenni optical and Bunnyeyez. I wear lots of colorful outfits and Zenni is so cheap that I got something funky for nearly every outfit w/o even touching $200

I think I was 24 when I first got a cellphone. That’s partially because I’m old, and also because I grew up in rural Michigan, and went to college in a different rural area of Michigan, so if I would have had a phone it wouldn’t have been able to get service most of the time. My parents did have a giant-battery bag cellphone (in the late 1990’s) as a backup when our landline went down, or when we were using dial-up internet.

I'm with vinny on the great bowl/plate debate. Plate all the way unless it's a liquid.

I never knew it was possible to put water on your toothbrush after you put the toothpaste on, similarly how can so many people think you should use bowls more often than plates? The things you learn from video game podcasts.

Abby really seems to live the "if it happened before I was born I have no idea" lifestyle. I was blown away a few months ago when she didn't know about renting video games, even having worked with guys who grew up in the 80's.

I really hope that Predator game won't just be a 5vs1 Evolve kinda thing. Far too few games do the three way multiplayer thing these days, and I think it could be a great fit for a Predator game - two human teams fight each other to capture some objectives that in time unlock a stash of stronger weapons, while the Predator hunts both teams.

@anderswarming: Yeah. Bakalar isn't GB staff, but he's basically the backup host for this podcast. He needs like honorary staff or something.

I'm also extra bummed he's not gonna be at E3. It's always sad for me when there's a beastcast without Bakalar.

Yah I feel the same. A Beastcast without Bakalar just doesn't feel the same, he has amazing chemistry with the crew. It's kind of crazy how in the first couple of episodes when they introduced Jeff for the first time and said he's from CNET I automatically thought "who is this CNET guy, why are they bringing in some stiff from the tech review website???" How wrong I was.

I think Abby would recognize George Clinton's voice if she played San Andreas (Bounce FM). I'm a little sad that GTA only takes place in serious current time now. Vice City and San Andreas radio stations were like music encyclopedias that introduced me to all kinds of weird genres (thanks to Lazlow).

Best concerts: Judas Priest (pure spectacle) and Slayer (insane stamina of those guys)

It might be deja vu but I think Vinny told that concert story on a podcast before. Great story nonetheless.

Really love the continued bit by Alex, Dan, and Bakalar that Days Gone isn't worth anyone's time.

Between that, the "it looks like shit" banter leading up to it (from both crews) and the highly questionable scores from IGN and (especially) Gamespot, it's like some folks wanted it to fail. You guys established it's a "B" game, and sure it has issues, but acting like it's a pile of shit with Dan eliciting a groan anytime Vinny brings it up is annoying as hell. Let the man play what he wants without y'all ganging up on him.

He's obviously drawn to it much like what seems to be the majority of us folks outside the "professional enthusiast" bubble who enjoy it for its setting, cool survival aspects, and story, and I personally would hope...especially now, as result of strong sales...SIE Bend Studio will be given a chance to improve upon the rocky, yet impressive foundation they've built for what could be a great franchise. A game that, despite its blemishes is closing in on RE2 as my favorite release this year and is an honest to god breath of fresh air in a sea of generic futuristic shooters that seem to plague the market.

I usually don't get worked up to where I feel the need to defend something outside of the annual bashing of WWE2K, but shit, guys...it's lame. Thankfully the West Coast ignored the game altogether (for whatever reason). But yeah, they don't like it, who cares, if you do, keep at it Vin-man...and play at your own pace, there's definitely fun to be had!
