I don’t get Dan’s philosophy behind his Mario Maker levels, it fits his heel character but I find it odd as one of the chosen few with a direct ability to get their levels played he opts for trial and error “puzzles” I’m not shitting on him for it I just don’t get it. In general that’s my problem with Mario Maker so many custom levels aren’t my bag, frame rate can be a bastard and I have no motivation to make a level because I know no one will see it.

Abby’s “make my own dinner” analogy is good and to add on, the created levels feel less like a sandwich and more like a stew, it could be anything, literally anything and its most likely got a bit of poison in it. Meanwhile you make some tepid bowl of stew which you know is gonna go uneaten thus killing any real drive to get better at it or make another. As someone who crapped out a single

2 hour level just to try it. I can’t imagine spending a whole weekend on one that goes nowhere I’d feel like a total shitebag ??‍♀️.

Speaking of Mario Maker streamers. If you like making levels in Mario Maker but don't have a platform to post your levels on like most press people, I recommend going to Twitch and look for Mario Maker streamers who titled their streams with Viewer Levels. They will gladly play your levels, and you get to enjoy watching someone else play what you created.

Here's a handful of my favorites I follow:

DanG88 - He's a partnered streamer who's pretty much only streaming Mario Maker, and most of his streams are based around levels from viewers. https://twitch.tv/DanG88

ToransuShojo - She's an amazing person and also a great Mario Maker player, who also focuses on playing levels from her viewers. She excels at playing kaizo levels if you like that, and perhaps have those kinds of levels to share. She's part of a Twtich team called Girls of Kaizo. https://www.twitch.tv/ToransuShojo

CarlSagan42 - He's another one who's very well known in the Mario Maker community, usually has thousands of viewers/stream, so it might be hard to get your levels through to him but still fun to watch. He plays a lot of puzzle, kaizo and troll levels. He's also a scientist, and loves talking about interesting science related topics while streaming. https://www.twitch.tv/carlsagan42

JangusTheScienceGuy - Another fun guy who's also a science teacher. He's still a very new and small streamer, but already fairly popular for how small his following is. https://www.twitch.tv/jangusthescienceguy

SuperJBizzle - A super chill New York dude who mostly play Mario Maker with great rock/metal music in the background. He has a few thousands followers, but his streams are usually not very overcrowded, so you can easily get your levels played by him. Not a very big streamer, and although I consider myself a variety streamer I've recently been playing a lot of Mario Maker 2, and I'm always open to play viewer levels. I understand not seeing the magic of Mario Maker. I don't have a passion myself. But this restaurant analogy doesn't really make sense to me. There are decades of Mario games readily available, countless levels, etc. This is something different that I think is totally necessary. Clearly people appreciate it.

@dweep: his transparent need to feel superior to others as his PRIMARY drive in the game is unreal. Dan is perfectly fine but his 'childish heel' shtick can grate after a while.

@rpjeff: The fine line between acting like a heel and being a heel in real life is gradually being erased. When you spend so much time cultivating a heel character and applying it in all instances when does it actually stop being a character instead of just displaying the inherent traits which that person have? Dan pledged to be a "new Dan" some time ago but I struggle to see any improvements.

This happens a lot between the two podcasts. Someone out there must've devised an algorithm to ensure that their emails somehow get read by two sets of very different people from week to week.

@liquiddragon: Why don't you want to hear the Beastcrew's perspective/opinion on a matter that the Bombcast has opined on?

I don't listen to the Bombcast, so I don't know If their views align with the Beastcrew's too much, thus making the listening experience too similar.

This is what I come to the Beastcast for wet mouth sounds and bathroom talk.

As someone who lives in London Ontario, it really isn't RIGHT beside Toronto. It's about a 2-hour drive without rush hour traffic.
