Is... is there any actual difference between the free and premium video options? The free videos don't have the ads anyway, right?

Non-Premium site users will still see ads on the free version. Beyond that I don't think there's a huge difference.

Abby's new setup seems primed for some Tater mischief, so fingers crossed for an appearance by my favorite staff member.

EDIT: and in a mere 6 minutes or so, we have a Tater sighting!

Something about the camera perspective on Abby's new set up makes her look like she is very far away from the mic.

@vinny for your question about the missed training manuals and such that you miss. They DO put the training manuals in the next safe you open. It happened to me where I progressed the story into a cutscene before I meant to, and missed a safe (I then went to youtube to check what I missed because I was obsessing over it) and the video showed the player received a training manual, but in the next safe I came across I ended up getting that exact manual.

Reminds me of the Abe Simpson line where he says "I use to be with it they changed what it was, now what I'm with isn't it and what is it is weird and scary to me".

Tbh, I always wondered now why the "main" Giant Bomb podcast is always on video mode when I open the link and Beastcast is always on "free audio". Only just during the lockdown I started watching beastcast video podcast on twitch, later realising you can actually see it on this site via the small button bottom left - u can call me stupid, but did I actually listen to beastcast for years without knowing there is a video version? Is it something to do with my cookie setting or something or is there another reason for that? Ok thnx bye.

@attomicus: They only started doing video podcasts for the beastcast when they started lockdown, because they were all sitting in front of webcams anyway. There are no videos before that. I can't tell you when it remembers your settings as to which version you want. Haven't figured that one out myself yet.

Yeah was trying to figure out how EPIC needed that 1.5% investment, but I don't know Tim Sweeny really really liked that PS5 SSD, light years beyond anything on PC he says... maybe that was $250 million well spent by Sony.

Abby and Alex's just looks like a college dorm room while Jeff's looks like a professional and Vinny has the, I live my hobby look!

They do move items around in LoU Part 2 in case you miss it elsewhere. I have beaten LoU Part 2 and watched it played through in the background while working on things, and I can say that I got all of the upgrade books (magazines?) in my gameplay, but there was one safe I never opened, and in the play through I watched, the player got one of those books from the safe I did NOT open.

Jeff is consistently too quiet.

I hope he's not talking about making one of those ridiculous looking natural wood/bowling ball tables.

Oh, also the email about being "un-sold" on a game due to one of its elements was mine!

Aww this made me feel really depressed abut vinny's set up :( hope you get it comfy soon. its not fun spending 10 hours a day in a environment that isn't comfortable.

Assuming Jeff Bakalar's reaction to "the most recent Paper Mario has some stuff near the end where stuff goes off the rails" is actually describing the Wii one, Super Paper Mario, yes it goes pretty crazy at one point near the end.

If I may spoil a like 13-year-old game, in Super Paper Mario, the game's 8 chapters are you jumping around to different dimensions. The 6th or 7th dimension is the samurai dimension, Mario & party enter a fighting tournament, then like 15 minutes into the tourney the game's villain USES A BLACK HOLE TO DESTROY THE ENTIRE SAMURAI DIMENSION and for the rest of the chapter Mario & party are dead and go to the video game afterlife (loosely modeled after the Greek underworld, sort of?). It was quite inventive. You eventually get back Mario's soul or whatever and return to the living world.

Or maybe Jeff was thinking of something from Sticker Star or Color Splash. I didn't play them, they looked bad, maybe they have something clever in the back half.

Abbey, I know you are jealous of Jeff's Pinball machine because he talks so smugly about it and all but let me tell you this: Pinball sucks and no one actually want them to have one.

Y'all are so dope, and made my day after a tough week. I love you all.

@vinny highly recommend Zombie Kidz Evolution as a co-op family boardgame. You can get through a game in 20 minutes and has a great legacy angle with envelopes that are opened after certain playing conditions occur.

The controller email got me thinking how Nintendo really oughta include a sweatband with Ring Fit because I’m pretty sure the joycons aren’t weren’t designed to account for the amount of sweat that drips onto them during my sessions.

Also Frances Conroy has tremendous Nick Cage energy, especially in American Horror Story. I’d love to see those two play off one another.

I'm all-in on the streaming future! Parsec works great on my local network to play games streamed from my PC in my home office to my Chromebook anywhere else in my house, and Stadia and GeForce Now works great for me too. I have no plans to buy next gen consoles or upgrade my Win10 PC (until it completely dies).

@mr__kamikaze: Yeah this also happened to me. Forgot about a safe and progressed on and was like crap what did I miss? A guide said there was a manual in the safe and I was wondering if I might be able to go back to that location later. But then the next safe I came across had the manual that was supposed to be in the last safe.
