Wait... wait... wait... Jeff literally has no idea how drifting works... It can be done in any type of car, but RWD is the primary way to drift. My brain melted a bit hearing what he was saying.

@liquidprince: When Vinny says "I think these cars are RWD the rear tires are kicking up a bunch of smoke" I screamed out YES THANK YOU VINNY

@dunchad: at the most basic level yes. in practice there is so much more too it and the most common method if initiating drifts in lower powered cars is through momentum transfer. it takes a lot of power to actually do a power over drift on dry pavement. my car is so low hp that i can only drift in the rain.

@blazele: dude this podcast was 3 months ago. I have no idea what I even said or asked. Your one word reply means nothing to me.

ok so jeff was killing me with his FWD drifting talk... 98% of drifting is done in RWD cars. every car featured in this movie was RWD while the red evo was originally AWD this one was modified to be RWD.

Finally catching up. Jeff's insistence on FWD drift cars is making me really cringe.

There's a reason nobody drifts Honda Civics.

This one was a good rebound after 2f2f. Han continues the trend of the partners carrying the movies, Bama Boy isn't 2f2f Paul Walker-level bad, the 'so stupid it's good' moments make a return after the just stupid of the second.

So much looking forward to the rest of the series and the F&40s commentary.

I'm pretty sure you have to take tests to get accepted into high schools in Japan so I'm not sure how that dude could possibly be going to high school without knowing Japanese. Maybe his dad is super high up in the Navy and pulled some strings? Even then you'd fail out super fast.

Other than that, this was okay I guess. Definitely better than 2 so far.

@homiegsb: you sir are correct. I was hoping jeff would bring some much needed knowledge. I was happy to see vinny finally slightly nudge that they're using rwd cars during the main drift challenge.

Also it's crazy they put a 2jz in a mustang.

I WOULD be a pretty big culture shock to go to a country where the schools have budget enough to actually give a shit about their children's health! Their physical health, at least.

Also MY GOD, the non-East Asian character line reads are...well, they're something. Thank GOD for awesome cinematography and awesome commentary.

I know I'm, like, 4 years late, but they were discussing the ganguro style towards the end, and Dan asks if there's a fighting game character with that style; Sakura in Street Fighter 4 has an alt costume where the last color is meant to look like that.
