I never knew Nintendo were so aggressive in their past press conference. Rather eye opening.

I think everyone was, shit talking the competition was a thing. Which IMO fanned the flames of the console wars. Now I'd like to think we've all grown up a bit and the industry has a bit more class.

Can we all have a love-in for the old G4? There was some stupid shit on that channel, and goddamn I miss it SO much. I paid over $100/mo just to watch Portal, and whatever else dumb stuff they had going on.

That's "The Push" by Plump DJs playing at the end of DJ Hollands' pre-recorded bit. My wife and I bonded to Plump DJs when we first met, so that bit was ultra-nostalgic and happy for me. Goddamn, I legit miss the late 90s / early 00s.

This is probably my favorite series. Keep up the great work, guys! I'll watch every press conference all over again with you.

My memory must have been fuzzy. It's surprising they went so long between announcing the "Revolution" and showing the motion controls. There are winks and nods that they were ditching traditional controls, but it feels like they announced this way too early. It almost puts the long wait for the NX reveal into context.

Shame that they talked over Reggie directly slamming Sony and the PSP near the beginning. I would've liked to hear reactions from them.

It's crazy to hear them talk about online as if there is some semblance of them having their shit together. Nothing was even remotely close to what they were saying. What the hell is a wifi game?!

Weird to hear Earthbound mentioned here when it wasn't acknowledged at all until a couple of years ago. Also funny to hear them talk about getting a Smash Bros. game out soon, when Brawl didn't end up releasing until 2008.

Press conferences are the best game tapes.

The Tony Hawk game they were showing was American Skateland, which all things considered was a pretty good game. I remember it because I preordered it and it took ****ing Gamestop a month to get my copy in.
