Playdate: Contradiction Part 02

Contradiction 2 cannot come soon enough. I think Inspector Jenks is definitely in the running for Best New Character of 2015.

I definitely want to see a Contradiction 2 (and a playdate for that). Jenks' faces throughout this were just great.

Please keep Jenks and Paul in mind for Best New Character this year.

I'm one of the people who thought they'd never subscribe (mainly because I'm a cheapass).

I subscribed specifically to watch Contradiction. And it was worth it. What an amazing game. Would not have been the same experience just playing it by myself.

Someone in chat telling them about the tape on the license and the broken window didn't seem like a spoiler at the time, but it turned out being quite a big one. I don't know how to feel about that.

Enjoyed it so much after the quick look that I bought it on Steam. Haven't played it myself but happy to support the developers anyway! Encourage all of you who watched to the end to do the same. It's basically the price of a movie ticket (or cheaper).

This went semi-David Cage towards the end. I had a feeling who it was for a long time but c'mon, tape!? Oh well, hope this gets a sequel.

Yeah, I thought that too. Something along those lines or they were making tea out of the salvia divinorum and drugging the students, making them go on weird trips and some went bad.

Why were they so shocked by the whole "our wedding night was quite the surprise" bit? They saw Rebecca slap Ryan and them starting to flirt about it being "that kind of night". It's pretty clear they're into some kinky shit.

I'd be interested in a sequel, but what I'd really love is for the writer to tell us what the original story was. (I saw the video someone linked--thanks!--where he talked a little about it and mentioned that it was cut short to be a demo.)

Clearly, with a bigger budget, it was going somewhere else--the scene with the lady in the mask and cloak was almost right at the end! I'm now just really curious where the story was originally supposed to go and what this was all leading up to.

(Kinda reminds me of Destiny that way. Just enough bits and pieces and unfinished paths that you know there was a lot more that didn't make it.)

Late to the party but agree that this game and feature were awesome. I would love a sequel but my only worry is that I don't think you could use any of the non-Jenks characters again. Half the fun was watching the "business class" and the sordid details about the various characters spiral outwards. It'd be hard to capture that again with the same characters now that we know what we know about each.

So good! I bet it would have taken them much longer right at the end if someone had not mentioned the tape and broken window part earlier on. Hope to see more of this kind of stuff from GBeast in the future! Great work.

Great series guys, between this and the Castlevania series I am getting exactly what I was hoping for out of GBeast. Vinny, Alex and Austin make a great team. I know its weird for you guys to play through the entirety of a game on the site when that game is new but I think for games like this and Deadly Premonition where you are bringing awareness to a game that probably would have been otherwise overlooked there is evidence that suggests you guys are actually increasing the sales by spoiling the game. I think SWERY getting a Microsoft contract had a lot to do with your coverage, so if it enables to creators to keep creating that is a great thing.

I personally watched the whole thing without touching the game but after finishing this series I have now gone out and bought it, mostly to support the developer.

Finally managed to watch this, and wow, this game is fantastic. I'm sad it's over but here's hoping for a Contradiction 2.

"That actually is murder, what you just did" Favorite premium feature on the site in a long time. Ending was less epic than I would have hoped, but the ride there was a hell of a ride. Charming, hilarious and unique game. This game better clean sweep category the "best character" for their 2015 goty awards, they're all awesome.

I really hope there's a sequel for this game and some more games like this get made for Gbeast to play, because this feature was magical and I'm sad it's over and it's probably back to watching them play old platformers or whatever again. Hopefully the crew comes up with something else interesting like this because Castlevania really doesn't do it for me as I'm not obsessed with nostalgia.

By the way the already ripe dry collected poppy pods are harmless and kind of useless for extracting opium. You really do sell the poppy seeds just to grandmas to make pastries, well you sell them to pastry factories really :P A lot of European countries and cultures have some of the most kick ass pastries with poppy seeds.

Bought the game halfway through the playthrough even though I knew I'd never play it. This was great, glad I watched to the end. Support the devs!

When his dad slipped and said Ryan likes "blondes" while the women he was presumed to be interested in were all brunettes, I suddenly thought the big reveal might be that he was actually having a relationship with -Simon-, the only blonde.

So Kate, like any manipulative Atlas adherent, found out and black-mailed Ryan, and Emma was discouraging it to protect Simon. Then either Simon killed Kate after he found out she was blackmailing Ryan or Ryan got Kyle to kill Kate to cover it up.

Boo-lieve.

Eeeeehhhh...I'm really not a fan of the ending. There was so much cool, weird stuff that was going on and it didn't really pay off. Atlas and the implication of some grander, large-scale mystery was the most interesting part of the game. Besides that, Rebecca seemed so cold and kinda calculating; it's weird that she would admit to pushing Kate down into the water with a stick. That being said, this was still super fun to watch, even if it didn't pay off exactly how I wanted.

I know, I'm late to the party. So sue me. :P

I do think that you guys shouldn't use the chat though. I know you want to keep it community based but you were doing so well and the game had a decent hint system for when you got stuck.

It's December 2017 and for the past 2 weeks the GB crew has been recording a GOTY material. Lack of a content on the site made me watch the series on Contradiction and it's a good one. In case of GB crew recording GOTY 2018 material, I recommend to watch this series.

Just watched this finally because the supplemental came on GB TV! This needs a sequel. I know the ending may dissapoint some but they had plans for more but ran out of time and money. You'll notice that they jump from 48% completion to 100 very quickly. That's because cuts were made to the end of the game.

Also for the people who were arguing about non game related things in this thread:

One of the actors/actresses for this is trans so bringing up the offensive joke is completely valid especially since they were watching these videos live/on archive and seeing this.

Paul intimidates me. Even sitting here watching a video. I don't think I'd ever want to be in the same room as him even if he liked me.

it's like they are approaching a deadline and hitch everything on the tape.

I'm wondering if the tape had like Atlas logos or symbols on it which would make it more linkable to Ryan/Paul/Atlas, something that might have made it a bit more believable.

Still though really enjoyed it, I think all the stuff about Atlas was really well written, and if anything sort of epitomises one of the tropes of this genre, especially on British TV detective shows. The red herring, but it was a great setting for the ride and I enjoyed all the flavour threads that never really got resolved but played a part (the drunk guy in the woods, the POPPY PODS, the girl in the mask who was about to be stabbed, BLACKSTONE/HAMMERSTONE)

The actors were wonderful, Paul Darrow was mesmerising. UI issues aside, the game cut between all the videos really quickly so felt very smooth.

My question is, what was with the screwdriver? :)
