That talk of Colchester made me feel all nostalgic. I lived there for a few years as a kid, my dad was stationed in the local garrison.

Some more Colchester fun facts:

- The town was originally named Camulodunum.

- Colchester Castle’s keep is the largest ever built in Britain and is the largest remaining in Europe. The castle was built on the foundations of the Roman Temple of Claudius, a section of which has been excavated and is viewable as part of the tour.

- Colchester was the site of a large battle during the civil war and some buildings still have holes in them from musket balls fired in that battle.

Damnit, I already miss Drew. This sucks...

that famicom mini is baller!

@drewbert Pogs are surprisingly easy to make, I had a maker during the height of Pog popularity. All you essentially do is take a printed image, get a blank pog with one side that is adhesive then use one of these things to cut around the image to make it the same size to the adhesive blank pog! Most of my pogs were custom made during the height of popularity.

So glad our Japanese mailbag made it there in time! Also in case anyone was wondering, the Asphalt Rusk candy is edible, but more like a biscuit/cookie consistency.

@drewbert The Race Rubber was in fact picked up off the track by my wife and me after the race. They let people who stayed after do a track walk and you could pick up little bits left on the track. Some people were taking home HUGE bags of the stuff!

And you can still find the Mini Famicoms online, you will just pay a premium at this point...(I was probably able to save some money being able to buy it directly from a Japanese reseller here in Japan, but YMMV.) ^_^

Those pogs are incredible. Serious kudos to whoever did that.

@lanechanger: You see, when the SD card gets filled, data might drip out. Pointing the camera at the ceiling pushes the data against the back wall of the SD card, creating more space for extra data! That's just science.

Am I the only one having serious issues with this video? Starts and stops frequently, lots of skipping etc.

I've been on that tour so many times now - the people that do it are great! Lots of bending down low to get between rooms, mind.

Jeff's said on Tumblr that they'll have to put out a listing for a new video guy once Drew is off contract. That's on top of the behind-the-scenes guy they're looking for at East and a new Front Man for West.
