Charlie Brooker is a cool guy. Weird to see how much fuss Black Mirror is getting on that side of the pond now it's shown up on Netflix and it's looking like it's probably going to be the thing that Brooker is most famously associated with but he's been around for years and has a ton of great work behind him.

Like @brad said, he came from the games press in the 90s but still contributes to this day, notably to Edge. I think he featured in last month's issue in fact. He did a ton of TV/pop culture review stuff too both in newspapers and for the BBC. He has a semi regular series of shows called (something)Wipe here in the UK, there is Screenwipe which is about the TV shows currently in the zeitgeist, Newswipe which is about current affairs (and it's review of 2016 is going to be a hell of a show...) and a few years ago there was a one off special called Gameswipe. getting a bit tired of GiantBomb becoming the Dan show (understand many like his online persona but it does not really work for me.) Other voices are getting less and less of a percentage of time. I know this is just my opinion and is in the minority, might just be my age.

Would love a Dan stream with some Super Mario Sunshine, I'd probably end up chipping in some more for the kids.

@dovah: Samsung UN55JU6500 55-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV (2015 Model) That's the one I got. Looks like the brand new 2016 55-inch model is only $699 on Amazon. A nice HDMI cable so you can output 4k is only like twenty bucks, then add in tax for the TV, and you're looking at around 800 bucks for a pretty damn decent 4k set up. I hadn't bought a TV since 2011, so it was time for an upgrade, and honestly, I'm still really happy with it.

It's weird because here in the UK we have chips and fries, chips being the thick cut and fries being the thin cut which you have at Mc Donalds. The Waffles are just called Potato Waffles as we have the Dessert Waffles.

whenever Phil Collins comes up, I feel compelled to tell my story. My wife and I had our first date / not really a date / ok it was complicated "first date" at his Champaign, IL concert in 1997. That was the night she said she realized she wanted to be with me.

Fast forward 3 years later and my wife and I are getting married and she sends a note to Phil's fan mail address asking him (brace yourself) to play at our wedding. His publicist writes back and says no Phil can't make your wedding. Fast forward to the month before our wedding and my wife receives an envelope from England which she refuses to show me until the day after our wedding - and it's a wedding card, signed by Phil Collins.

To this day, my wife and I are fiercely loyal to Phil and will always remain so for obvious reasons.

If you don't plan on watching the entire series, I highly recommend Episode 2 - Fifteen Million Merits. It's the episode that hit me the hardest, although the subject matter of other episodes might impact people more.

Whenever the crew talk about esports, they spread so much misinformation and negative views it's insane. I wish they'd take time to inform themselves, maybe talk to some big org owners, or avoid the subject. Their ignorance on the subject is inexcusable, so just don't bother covering it if you don't care enough to learn about it.

I can rant about all the things said but the basic thing is that players in esports organizations are already on salary and the organization gets money from numerous sponsors (from computer parts to Brisk tea). A monopoly in esports, be it LoL or StarCraft II, has often led to people being underpaid and a less competitive scene, so an Overwatch League could just as easily be a bad thing. Valve, with CSGO and DOTA, have found a good balance between official sponsored majors and third-party tournaments year-round that has brought the most competition and ensured casters/producers get competitive wages (while Riot undercuts everybody despite being a massive, massive company).

Get people like Semmler (CSGO), MonteCristo (LoL, OW) or Tobiwan (DOTA) to talk about what esports scene is really like and inform yourselves and audience.

He's the loud mouth with a heart of gold who's always snacking and whose wild card status sometimes overshadows his value to the team. Alex is Michelle Rodriguez. Not sure why, but it's just not hard to imagine him punching someone in the face. Brad is Han. The unexpected MVP. Cool, collected etc. Jason is Luda. The soft spoken dude behind the scenes, keeping shit on track. Alex is Paul Walker. The good guy. The one without even a trace of poison pumping in his veins. Rory is Giselle. The foreign one who says things funny sometimes, but when he's not around, you feel his absence...

Brad's Titanfall 2 wall running 'bug' is most likely that he ran past the difficult-to-predict time limit where the engine pushes you away from the wall and counts it as a jump, thus jumping again would be considered your double jump. If you wait too long to jump off during a wall run you'll inevitably hit a weird 500-1000ms transition period where the engine considers you off the wall but you can't really tell yet based on player movement. It will allow you to jump again during this transition, but it counts it as your double jump since it already considers you as being disconnected from the wall (which was your first "jump"). It's not actually a bug, it's a misunderstanding of the (admittedly slightly confusing) mechanics of wall running. My advice: jump early and often.

The GTA Phil Collins concert is definitely in Vice City Stories, and not VC proper. I only watched a playthrough of VCS (having no way to play it myself) and thought it was really cool.

Jeff being on both the Bombcast and Beastcast in one week is not that big of a deal considering Dan did it just a couple of months ago. Unless you're also counting the fact that Jeff returned for the following week's Bombcast.

When I was a kid, I used to brush my teeth for like 20 seconds max. Now I do about a minute. I just can't do it for the "proper" amount. It's too much.

Never am sure what my favorite types of fries are. A lot of them are good. I love wedge cut. The fries the Fuddrucker's has (or had? None near me anymore) are awesome.
