You don't -have- to do save scumming or other types of min max to get unlocks in Hitman. There are so many different ways to get mastery points that you don't really ever need to go out of your way to do something you don't want to do.

I bought the game a little over a month ago and I've hit full Mastery in Sapienza, Marrakesh, and I think Paris, all without turning on any opportunities and only using intel within the game to guide me along. I always try to complete the mission on Silent Assassin/Suit Only mainly because it's fun and changes the level into an entirely different game, but it's also a good way to get 15k points right off the bat. I'll do the missions maybe 3-4 more times to see some of the more interesting kills. Do Sniper Assassin because it's always cool as shit. Again, changes the level in a way that really makes you appreciate the detail they put into their design.

Then finally do some Escalations with what unlocks I have, as most (emphasis MOST) are really engaging and fun, despite load times making them a bit of a chore on PS4. And then before I realize it I'm usually level 20 without really trying to get there.

Obviously the problem with the newer maps is there just aren't that many escalations right now so you're stuck repeating the story mission for unlocks which might be frustrating for some people.

The updates coming to FF dont seem that outrageous to me. CD Projek did something similar with Witcher 1 and 2.

@brandong: 1:33:30. Took me ages to find it and I thought I was going crazy for hearing absurd phrases that were never spoken.

Wisconsin representing. Normally I'd say fuck you to all the MN haters, but this state's been bumming me out with all of its bullshit lately. The Packers aren't even good this year.

@teeknuts: For a straight up Jucy Lucy, I definitely agree. For variants and All Around Good Shit, Blue Door is my jammmm.

Blue Door Pub has, don't get me wrong, GREAT Juicy Lucy's, but their wings are where they really shine. They are ORGASMIC. Try the Samurai and Maple Bacon flavors if you haven't yet.

Minneapolis represent, Minnesotan born and raised. Wish I knew about Dan when he was living here, would have loved to see him at some bar somewhere to shoot the shit about video games for a couple hours.

Also another story: I once saw someone wearing a Giant Bomb hoodie on the bus to work one day. I was too nerd-scared to say "Hey, I'm a bomber/duder too!" It was nice and it did give me a fuzzy feeling to see people out here representing GB. Is that normal? Should I see a doctor?

All I know from Minnesota is what I watched in Fargo :/

As a Minnesotan I can tell you that Fargo is a lot more accurate than you'd probably think. The accents are exaggerated for effect, obviously, but it it nails the cultural touches right on the head. There are so many subtle little things that non-Minnesotans would probably never pick up on. It feels like a movie made specifically for me and my people that just happened to have broad appeal.

So. A medical student friend of mine from North Carolina moved to Minnesota. It has been an experience for them. Evidently the snow is so cold you can't make snow balls out of it. They are still in the wow this much snow is cool phase not sure how much longer that will last.

Quick note, Heroes of the Storm is the game that introduced Talents and Healing Wells to MOBAs. Though, as I understand it, the talents in DOTA 2 are a lot more vanilla than the ones in Heroes. Most of them being just generic stat talents until later on.

It's understandable of course, Talent Trees are a lot of work and make the process of building a character a couple months longer because it's not enough to build a base kit, you must also build a cool talent tree that is itself healthy and balanced. That was why Heroes built its roster gradually over time and will only hit 60 tomorrow. I can't imagine applying a fleshed out talent system retroactively to 120, um, defenders?

(The Heroes team is very good at talent trees now by the way. They've basically stopped doing generic talents in favor of hero specific ones when making new heroes, and most times they do Hero reworks they take out as many generics as they can. It's more work coming up with cool new options for each hero, but it's better.)

Quick note, that's not a Quick Note at all ;)

Anyways, I like both Dota 2 and HotS and those Talent Trees aren't really comparable. In Dota 2, the Talent Tree is on top of all the other bullshit you already had to deal with (Ability Upgrades and Items). In HotS, the Talent Tree is the whole deal.

That's why the Dota Tree isn't as "Cool" as the HotS Tree.

I got one for that game you play before you die email:

Journey.

Forget leaving a message, I want one of the most striking experiences I've had in a game before I aptly leave this life. The priest can give my Last Rites during the Nadir and line up all the beauty and symbolism right.

I like how Dan tried to avoid hearing the secret of blue cheese and he eventually heard it anyway :p

Oh man, I remember the book it program. Got many pizzas from that thing.

I admit, I played levels in Hitman up to the point where I got everything I wanted from it and moved on to the next one. I do plan on going back eventually to max out my mastery.

I don't see even the slightest appeal for the concept of having in-game currency or items you've earned having the chance of being stolen by someone. Sounded dumb when they talked about it for MGS5, and sounds dumb here in Let it Die. All that shit you just put work into? It can be erased by a random stranger at any time! Woo, so fun. It's similar to how in GTA Online, if you're carrying around more than 5k, you can lose some if you get killed. That's completely avoided by banking cash, but it makes me wonder why the hell it's even in the game if it's so easily avoided. Let me opt out of that bullshit if it catches on as a trend.

Don't understand the disdain that Jeff and Dan have for the "New" Mario art style. The classics are great, but so is the new stuff. It looks vibrant and colorful. It's still intrinsically Mario. I'd like to hear them describe what they're looking for instead. Like, do they just want more pixel Mario? Seems unreasonable.

I definitely ran into that "Mass Effect DLC is still really goddamn expensive" problem 3 years ago. I got all 3 games on Origin for like $15. Buying all of the DLC for every game would have cost, like, $120 or something. Fucking ridiculous. I still have never played most of that DLC for the series, and I guess that will continue being true.

Surprised that the crew was so divided on sword arm vs. frictionless foot. I'd have zero applications for a sword arm, whereas a frictionless foot could serve as a fun and useful way to get to places every day. Both are still largely pointless, though.

I generally agree but the hero rotation is what puts me off HoTS (and LoL). Any sort of grind/paywall that affects gameplay just gives me a chore vibe in terms of what options I'd want to try out to see what heroes suit my play style. That way I prefer DoTA letting me try out any of the heroes.

it got lost in the live chat but people who haven't given heroes of the storm a chance are missing out on a really good solid game. it seems DOTA is following the same formula with the new talent system and taking away a lot of the micro management which makes heroes of the storm a lot more fun for a very polished quick game. it has become a good game to just play for short bursts of time and the free to play rotation gives you a lot of different characters to play around with not requiring you to have to actually spend money on it. i dont know if I would ever play DOTA just based on the terrible community whereas heroes of the storm you can mute chat with a hotkey right before a match starts which is the best hotkey.

@jtb123: I liked it(P.N.03) I dug the music and style although it was a bit repetitive. A modern sequel would be nice.
