Blizzard bypassed the Chinese law by selling in-game currency and making loot boxes some kind of gift. It's fairly devious and makes Blizzard as bad as the others.

As someone who usually only listens to the Bombcast, this episode is overstimulating me.

The blaster upgrades which are the only things that really matter, come from blaster kills, not perks. Any perk you'd want can be crafted, but most of them are garbage. Any materials you need, any character you want, can be easily obtained early on as they front load challenges rewarding you with plenty of credits. I had enough credits to buy Vader (I didn't) after one night of play with a great deal left over.

Also, say what you want about Arby's....but man, those deep fried turkey sammiches look good.

The Sessions talk made me thinking of finger skateboards but with thumbs to controller a character. I tried out what I picturrd the motion on an xbox controller, it felt a bit off like regular foot. A ps4 controller would be the best if ya wanted to use goofy. Has anybody played the demo?

Its crazy to me not finishing the post game stuff in Mario, because its always where the best levels are.. has been that way since Galaxy..

also their expectations for an actual Animal Crossing game on phones is a bit silly, it was never going to be that to directly alienate the upcoming console one.

In regards to Abby's question at 1:06:00-ish (Do they even know what's going on with this?), I can say emphatically "No."

I've worked on Capitol Hill in the past, and the one thing that was immediately apparent to me is that the only qualification to be in Congress is to win an election. Most elected officials aren't policy whizzes, and even if they were, it's frankly impossible to be knowledgeable about every single subject that laws get made about.

Typically in a situation like this, where many elected officials have minimal knowledge of the video game industry and its practices, if a bill is proposed and assigned to a committee, that committee will hold hearings in which they'll invite industry experts and others to argue for and against the bill. If a bill ends up making it to the floor, these committee hearings (or at least summaries of the hearings made by their staff) are a useful resource in a congressperson determining which way they will vote.

Always love the crazy nature of the podcasts around GotY production time. However, playing HQ made for a terrible bit of podcast. Didn't help that they were talking over most of the questions (since they can read it in front of them) so I couldn't even hear what some of the questions were.

I don't think I've ever agreed with one of Alex's assertive claims before, but I can on one here - Arby's is awful. Why pay $5 for 5 sandwiches when they're all garbage?

All I really want for Christmas, is the 2017 GOTY deliberations....Can we please get them early this year? My parents always let me open one gift early!

@elite49: Most gamers these days seem to want exactly the opposite. Massive worlds with tons to do for the price are very appealing. hence why the new Zelda was such a massive hit. It and AC Origins are like the embodiment of the idea.

Yeah and it really sucks for those who don't want every game to be that. If Zelda actually had interesting things to do in it's open world maybe I would of actually enjoyed it.

The gang haven't been so involved in their phones during a live stream since Max Tempkin got DOSEONE to perform some E3's past.
