Will's virtual death from removing his headset was a matrix style 'not like this' moment. Wow.

When I first heard the pitch for Will's new company I thought it was kind of dumb. But after see this demo, it's possibly one of the more compelling things I've seen from both streams. Both the "show" aspect would be neat; I would totally watch a show similar to the Campo interview once a week or something. Then the whole aspect of just hanging out with someone in a set, be it a game environment, or just a regular set, looks really neat.

EDIT: This is a WHOLE different thing, but it would be neat if they would someday be able to walk through "scenes" of a game or something. Having a game director give commentary on a big game set-piece, with the ability to pause/rewind, would be amazing.

Exactly that, where the actual developers are there pointing out stuff as it's happening. Obviously they are doing this right now with static environments, but it would be great if things got triggered like in that Half Life 2 commentary stuff.

You know what I'd love for Will to tackle? A designer/programmer tour of Destiny levels once they begin the promotional windup for Destiny II.

This is the most interesting part of VR for me. It would be great if you could incorporate a 3D recorded film sets into VR, It would make for some interesting behind the scene content.

Woah, the Terminal 7 book is a reference to their Netrunner podcast! Had no idea that was in the game. That's awesome.

The part where Will takes off his headset and his avatar crumples up and bugs out is one of the funniest things I've seen on Giant Bomb in a long, long time. I couldn't stop watching it.

That Kevin MacLeod track in Gumball Drift, ugh. I like the guy's music, but certain tracks have gotten so ubiquitous that I'm starting to get tired of them.

Also, I just decided that I want a water bear plushie. Those things are adorable, even the real, non-cartoon versions.

Foo looks awesome. I wonder if they're going to do any manual tweaking or re-rendering of recorded stuff to make the movement look more naturalistic, or if they'll just work on making it better on its own.

Also, was Will using the Vive mic? That's really rough, especially in comparison to what was heard on the Oculus stream.

Foo looks cool, but I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around how that is sustainable from a business side. How will it generate money? Ads built into their set pieces? Not sure, sounds like a really tough thing to make profitable, but very cool.

Jesus, VR is like Dan...the best and worst thing at the same time

And also turns Jeff into a child like wonder I lost it when he circled the whole room painting stars in space, and then dipped his head into them

It was pretty rough, really started grating on me after a few minutes. Hopefully that isn't the norm.

Cool that the devs of that crappy plane game made it red vs. green so the colourblind among us can't tell what the fuck's going on.

Really? I am not colorblind and as such does not know anything about the subject, but i thought it does only effect colors that look the same like blue and purple, red and orange, that sorta thing.

Man, it's interesting. After the Oculus stream, I cooled on VR. Thinking "okay, I don't need to get it yet"
However, after watching the Vive stream, and going to sleep, I had dreams about VR.
While I can't see myself plopping down $800 for this thing, it seems the choice is clear. when the time comes, I'll be getting a Vive.

The look on Jeff's face and Brad's laugh after, "No wait... I'll just take my headset off," is probably the biggest laugh I've had all year.

@assirra: There's different types of colourblindness. Not only can I not determine between similar colours, but red/green specifically. Side by side I can sometimes tell that they are not the same colour, but even then I can't tell which is which.

That 3D sketch program looked cool.

They showed off something similar for that PS4 game Dreams, except just using the Move and camera.

True but it stays hilarious, The best (and near impossible) would be designing the model so it moves with you when you do dumb stuff or (an easier way) to have it auto reset when you move too much.

Is no one going to talk about how well done the level design of Unseen Diplomacy was, when applied to room scale? Jeff walked through a full multi-room level. Correct me is I'm wrong, but there hasn't been another game like that that I've seen. Everything is teleport, or some controller based movement method. That was crazy.
