@Vitor: Nope, honestly it's just you. I will grant you that in comparison to TTT2 it's not on that level graphically but you're shitting yourself if you think this looks like a hi -res PS2 game. The detail in the stages and the costumes, especially the ninjas, is really good.

This game looks hilarious! I doubt that I would be able to take this game seriously while playing it! Also, some of those cut scenes had some pretty awkward moments and angles...

I would say that Dead or Alive 5 definitely knows its audience at this point, and focuses on it like a goddamn microscope.

I want all old fighting game franchises to call it quits right now. Start fresh.

Actually Mila's design is pretty solid, tasteful, and not insane. 

Some of the Character models look really strange - almost like creepy mannequins. It's the same problem they had with Tomb Raider - trying to make the characters look realistic, while retaining the same face proportions of the earlier character models - they don't look right. Especially Kasumi - she looks like she's made out of plastic. Which is weird.

Can't unsee: A tiny tiger riding on the back of the main tiger in that image.

@HerbieBug: Start fresh with what? A new fighting game IP is one of the worst ideas to try and do right now. Fighting games only play to a specific audience and whenever someone tries to do a new IP or something different with the genre, it tanks (Battle Fantasia, Max Anarchy, etc) which is why it's been nothing but sequels, reboots, crossovers, and/or whatever other gimmicks. Just look at how gimmicky or desperate for attention fighting games have become recently. A fresh start would be a terrible idea for the genre at the moment. In a few years, maybe, but right now it just be a disaster.

Jeff and Ryan tackling DOA is great, but man... FIFA and Pro Evo came out too. Which means Jeff and Vinny - the GB Sports Club/"Footballsmen" - HAVE to tackle another sport-related Quick Look! Can't wait for that. This is just filler until we get to the next sports QL.

I do like DOA though. Best fighting system in my honest opinion. These animations are so fast and responsive and blend together so well, it just feels the best. It also has the counter system - all fighting games need to give you something engaging to do so you don't just get beaten up if you're not as good as your opponent. Mortal Kombat added the Kombo Breakers. Soul Calibur has the guard impact. Dead or Alive has the counters. And they're fantastic. So in terms of raw gameplay, DOA is pretty awesome. But it's still weirdly pervy in places and DOA5 doesn't feel like a big evolution at all. The whole series is basically still hanging out in Dead or Alive 2's shadow, which was a very, very good game admittedly. But if they won't even make new sound fx, they really don't need to make a new one, do they?

DOA vs. Virtua Fighter should've happened before a DOA5.

I cannot wait for the new video player. This one ALWAYS gives me headaches. ugh.

Yes. I NEED to see Jeff trying to play Be A Pro (for those unfamiliar with FIFA, this is a mode where you play as a single player in a match). Preferably in 11vs11 multiplayer.

Never mind the Japanese overdressing part, but no shinny, sparkly, flashy, colourful, cartoony POW sign hit markers and special moves? Where's the world coming to...

Huh. Well... I was expecting a little more after how this was hyped on the Bombcast., I guess. After watching this it really just felt like another fighting game released in a year that saw a ton of fighting games.

Oddly enough, I think they've dialed down their creepy boobs some from the previous games in the series. Still creepy and tasteless, mind you, but less so. I don't see this incarnation of Team Ninja making a volleyball game, for instance.

I really liked in the new MK where your opponent got up between rounds, no resets. Why don't other games do this? That was really cool to see them just get back up for the next round, bloody and all.

It makes me think the developers said, "yeah, okay, so our series is known for boobs, so lets put those in, but let's not make them so prominent you can't focus on the mechanics of the game." During gameplay, anyway. The cutscenes and victory screens maybe not so much. But it's definitely a step forward.

Dead or Alive 2 was basically pornography. This just looks like a fighting game with a boob fetish. Ain't nothin' wrong wit' dat. It's sufficiently self-aware for it to not be an overriding issue.

After Jeff's buildup, I was expecting even more insanity. Kinda disappointed.

Oh man can't wait for DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball 3, mostly for the storyline.
