Hey can someone pleas tell them that raid lairs are actually new raids just shorter, they are new environments new puzzles, new mechanics, and new bosses that take place on the leviathan but no wear even near the old raid area

Playing less than 2 story missions in and saying that there haven't been any significant changes to the game is pretty dumb. They added a lot of changes with this dlc, you kind of have to play a little bit of it to unlock it though...

Who is this video helping exactly? Aren't there 100 games releasing on Steam every day that you could choose from instead of covering this halfheartedly? You guys even said in the video that you're just going to have the same conversation in the next DLC, why not break the cycle.

That might've been the worst quick look ever. He played a mission that took place on one of the original planets, didn't know anything about what was going on, and did a complete 180 in about 12 minutes.

@pudge: Who is your comment helping, exactly? It's around half-a-year since Giant Bomb even uttered the words "Destiny 2" on their site. A quicklook like this will help players who shelved the game for a while decide if they want to get back in or not.

Here's the reality over the past few years:

Giant Bomb covers a niche, indie game on Steam: "Gah! Come on, another pixel-art indie game? They're all the same! Cover big-studio AAA games instead!" -The Forums

Giant Bomb covers a AAA game published by a major studio: "Come ON! Another AAA game?! You should cover more independent games instead!" -Also The Forums.

Frankly speaking, there isn't a whole lot more content to be found in this DLC. Even the strikes are all recycled except for one which is exclusive to PS4.

In any case, the real travesty of Warmind is the light grind after LL 340. There are zero options for solo players whatsoever to actually progress their gear past the softcap beyond a single flashpoint per week. At a point in the game's life cycle where most people have moved on and clans and fireteams are much harder to get together, it's a problem.

@declarius: @jeffleclerc: Everything shown in this video is what's sold in the DLC. It's not Dan's fault Bungie recycles content in these already too small yet overpriced expansions.

@gunflame88: @crysack:There's a ton of new content and activities to be found in this dlc- more than the previous DLC pack by far. Tons of changes to the game that make it feel a lot more fresh and fun (that everyone gets, regardless of DLC purchase) and then with the DLC you get the (admittedly short) campaign missions, but then you also get 6 new adventures, a new raid (shorter than the base game's raid but full of new environments and mechanics), new strikes, new pvp maps, and new endgame activities like Escalation Protocol.

There's a ton of gameplay to be found in the expansion, it's just that when the discussion happens about the DLC, it immediately gravitates to "THERE'S ONLY 3 CAMPAIGN MISSIONS IT'S SO SHORT" but there's way more to it than the campaign.

How do you manage to do the only story mission in an old area on Earth with every DLC quicklook? Both this and Osiris, there is one mission on Earth in the entire DLC and the same here. Somehow they are the mission that is done in both quicklooks. Never see the new stuff.

Just... maybe put more than 45 minutes into the new stuff before recording a video?

It speaks much more to Destiny DLC repackaging the same content over and over (and over) with a new price tag moreso than GB's preparations for a quick look.

At this point I don't like where Destiny went with its gameplay, story, rollout, etc.

BUT, the company is putting out content. We can acknowledge that; they are at least putting out content to cover teh check box for more content delivered.

History can decide what it mean - if it was enough, the right kind, helpful, etc. That company put ist out GB covered it. That's everyone's due diligence for the matter.

I don't think a quick look not showing off any of the new content is very representative of Destiny's dlc. Regardless of the rehashed content, there is new stuff in the dlc they could have showcased. What's the point of doing a dlc quick look if you're not going to showcase the new stuff? They could have instead spent 15 seconds on a podcast letting us know there is one mission on Earth (a mission they didnt even bother to complete one objective in). This video is a waste of their already limited resources.

This video did very little to show what's in this expansion, and it misunderstands what makes the updates fun for a number of people.

I'm grouping quite regularly with the main Waypoint pc clan, and what's fun for a lot of us are the new weapons, changes to existing exotic weapons, puzzling out and eventually beating the new lair, or running the previous raids with ease.

The Warmind DLC has a bunch of post-game unique weapons and gear that you can pursue, and all that's in favour of optimising a build, either for heroic strikes, PvP, raid encounters, or the new Escalation Protocol which is that end game horde mode you unlock on campaign completion.

You folks ought to jump into the lairs at some point because the terminology is misleading. It's a raid, it's not a single room or a throwaway thing, it's still a raid that has been built to be a shorter experience.

I understand there's no enthusiasm for it and no logical reason why GB would want to stream another raid months after the previous one came out, but it's just frustrating to see large swaths of *good* content get dismissed out of hand as if those are the facts and people shouldn't care to even try.

@dasakamov: I think the other comments back me up that this video isn't really doing the DLC justice one way or the other. I'm fine with them covering whatever they like, I trust them. But, if they're going to just be down on the game and joke about how bad the video is in the video, maybe they shouldn't be making this particular video.

This is wildly misleading and incorrect. You still have all of your milestones every week to progress past 340. They are even putting in loot that drops up to 360 into heroic strikes on the 29th. It sounds like you half read about this on a forum and ran with it.

cyberspacecat already mentioned a lot of the good aspects that came in this DLC drop, but there's also a bunch of changes that have really improved the game between Curse of Osiris and Warmind. I'd recommend even just glancing at the first image in a couple of the Development Roadmaps over at Bungie.net. For example: almost all of the underwhelming Exotic weapons got additions or changes made to them that make them really fun to use now, and heroic strikes have become a lot more difficult with additional rotating mechanics layered on top that differentiate them from standard strikes or nightfalls.

This Quick Look doesn't address the other things that came out with the DLC or the other updates that happened between Osiris and Warmind. Exotics got buffed and had masterworks added to them, masterwork armor was added to allow for some variability in armor sets. Cooldowns on powers were reworked so you can use them more and not think you need to save your super for something special. Nightfalls and Heroic Strikes got some pretty significant makeovers where now Nightfalls are now pretty easy compared to Heroic Strikes. And for the not-exactly gameplay specific stuff Vault space was increased and now you can have multiple emotes equipped rather than one unique one and 3 set ones. Even Eververse got updated with a chance to receive a guaranteed new item every week.

There's even stuff like a quest that's unfolding every week (we're on week 3 now) for a new exotic. The main bosses at the end of Escalation Protocols change every week also.

I know that by definition Quick Looks aren't exactly always the most informed, but Raid Lairs have been in the game since Osiris and nobody on Giant Bomb has ever done a quick google search to find the answer (they're wholly unique but smaller raids on the Leviathan tileset) or reach out to somebody they know that finished it (like friend of the site Danika Harrod).

That's because it's structure assets from Titan (I believe that's the ocean planet),mixed with old Mars assets from Destiny 1. Destiny is absolutely shameless in its repurposing of assets, and it's frankly embarrassing at this point.

Listen. I have a massive fucking distaste for everything about destiny but when dan said he only played about 2 missions and how everyone in the comments is saying he's actually missed a whole bunch of gameplay patch stuff, I might feel a little misinformed even though I fucking hate this game aha.

I didn't play much of the first Destiny, but weren't the DLCs for that game much more meaningful? These so far look very uninspired - designed only to keep the existing playerbase occupied rather than bring back more players, which is fine ... I guess?

I'm more of the mind that some middling DLC got 15 minutes and you should be glad to watch that? You know what it is: more numbers, a few more guns you'll half like and some cosmetics. I'm being intentionally reductive because Destiny was fun until it ran out of Destiny.
