Quick Look: Lost Planet 2

Although I guess I can respect the way they made this game, I must say that I've been completely put-off by all the stuff I've seen of this game since it's come out. 
Too bad.  I guess I'll settle for just Alan Wake and Red Dead next week.

This is why I like these quick looks. This game doesn't look nearly as bad as the Bomb Squad is making it out to be.

All of the combat in this game looks terrible.

Wow, people are really on one of 2 sides to this. either they say it sucks or relentlessly defend it.  I think, as they said, its really meant for a certain market of players.  There is nothing wrong with the people who enjoy LP2, they just like that kind of game.  Any game you can have fun playing, whether good or bad, can be a good game for that person.  Likewise, there are alot of people who don't like the "different" aspects of it.  Just cause its different doesn't always mean its good.  There are clearly some design flaws, near exclusively in the single player.  But if you enjoy it, all the more power to you.  There are just many people who do not enjoy that type of game.

LP2 looks like a damn frustrating, and bad,  game.

I haven't played this yet so what the hell do I know, but from watching this QL it seems pretty apparent that the game shouldn't be played like Gears of War or any other shooter.  I, for one, am glad it's not wholly generic.  If the game WAS better than it is, what would happen?  It would be moderately (instead of extensively) scoffed at and given a 3, for being closer to Gears but still not being Gears.  Epic can do what Epic does, and Capcom can do what Capcom does, and if you're open-minded then it's very likely you could end up enjoying both.  Griping about Lost Planet being not close enough to Gears is like automatically shitting on Mario Kart for not being close enough to Gran Turismo.  Just because they both have cars or guns doesn't have to make them the same.

If I reviewed the first game off of the single player I would give it a 2 as well, but if i reviewed either game with the multiplayer and single player, I would probably give both a four. "

Maybe it's because I'm running on no sleep at the moment, but I don't get what Ty means. It's really not like Gears of War, nor should it be played as such. Okay? That doesn't change how bad it is. I couldn't give two shits about it being similar to Gears, the difference between the two isn't the issue. Or one of the many, many issues I should say.

When Brad's aim was leaving something to be desired, I had to nod in agreement when Jeff suggested:

Glad I spent money on Dawn of War 2: Chaos Rising instead, this week. 
 
Went back for a sure fire classic versus... this.  I played and beat the first Lost Planet in a time of "Gears vs. Lost Planet".  I think, looking back, Gears of War won that argument. 
 
This, coming in after Just Cause 2 spoiling us with fantastic grapple mechanics, probably won't fit in.  I LOVED the demo, but since I won't be convincing my friends to get the game (plus, I hear the PS3 version is crap, to boot), I'll be passing on this title.  Played another game that features fantastic Co-op... Left 4 Dead 2.   
 
I'll take me some zombies if I can't fight giant bugs in mechs.  A flavor that is sorely lacking, mind you.  Not enough for me to drop $60 on this (and a bad PS3 port, at that!).

You can bring the custom stuff into single player but going to the pick character in the my page bit and pressing X on them :)

This game looks worse than the first one.

Wow, this quick look has made me want to play this game now, which doesn't seem to be its intended purpose :).  Again showing that "REVIEWS ARE JUST PEOPLE'S OPINION, EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN,  SO DON'T FREAK OUT WHEN A REVIEWERS OPINION DOESN'T MATCH YOUR'S".

Mass Effect 2 looks and plays much better, not to mention how much better are the animations.

is it coming to the pc. even though it should be i cant find any mention of it on steam or anywhere?

Pretty much everything about this game is bad. The prequel was neat, and I have it. But this one... i'll make sure that I NEVER, NEVER ever touch it.

The problem with this game is the name. Lost Planet 2 signifies some sort of continuity, gameplay and story-wise, with the first game. This game does not do so, and hence expectations are not met. They should have called it Lost Planet-Multiplayer Edition or something like that.

man, this looks mediocre. i'll wait til it's $20 or less.

As nothing to do with Brad, it's a pretty awful game. You don't get anything for defending Capcom on this one so please stop it.  
 
It's bloody pathetic!

Game is fun but far too grindy.  And leveling unlocks customization options and weapons hope this helps.

Was super excited to get a beta key for the multiplayer of this, tried it, deleted 30 minutes later. I'm sure there's a sect of people this game is intended for but the clunky controls, slow moving characters and silly grappling design really just doesn't appeal to me at all.

Man I watched half of this game & thought I was gonna hurl afterwards.  It's rare a third person shooter can get me dizzy, even from viewing on a video rather than actually playing.  I'll have to skip this...well might try the demo just to confirm dizzy spells.
