So, what are the key differences between this and the PC version? Are there any?

This looks like it works surprisingly well for being on a console.

At least Rye was still having fun at the end there. And he seemed to be happy about the whole meeting the Grim Reaper thing. I did love how Morgan was all "I'd love to stay but I really need to go" right after Rye died.

This whole thing reminds me of those comedy movies they made in the late 70's/ early 80's.

That doesn't seem like a terrible version of Sims 3, it is kind of missing the whole selling point of the whole town being simulated at the same time but at least you get a neighbourhood instead of one house / building.  
  
Great Quicklook, makes me want to go back to playing a bit of PC Sims 3 since I didn't play a whole lot when that actually came out.

Playing Sims == Playing house and/or with dolls

The Party is Over

The problem with the Sims on a console is the lack of community content.  What is available for free on the PC is 100% better than the stuff EA asks you to buy.  The Sims will always be a PC game for me because of that.  Still, they did a good job bringing over the base game to the console it seems.
