This game, though... Looks slow, clunky, and sadly really disappointing. I was hoping it would be worth picking up and was looking forward to the quick look, but now I just want to go play some SS4 instead.

Man, I couldn't agree more. It's making me fiend to play some SamSho, but as much as I want to like it, everything's telling me to go back to IV instead of getting this. To be fair, this seems like it gets a few more details right than the last few mainline entries... but it also looks like it's the game that comes out and gets overlooked (à la Street Fighter 1) before the sequel that actually refines the formula and gets everything right. Sadly, I doubt this is going to do well enough for that to materialize.

@pnutz83: @fdhabhar: Instead of imagining a sinister conspiracy or thinking that someone is someone else's "lackey", perhaps you could consider that two people might, you know, have similar tastes in the same category, and therefore generally agree with each other's opinions?

Ryan Davis (RIP) and Jeff were almost lock-step in agreement with the games they QL'd together, also.

Interesting look at it.. been watching some "pro"-ish streams of it and it looks fun in that context. Jeff and Ben definitely make the game look not very fun. I feel like this is really not a game you can mash or just throw out heave slash once you are playing people who know what they are doing and I kinda disagree with the idea that it would be a good hand it to people who don't play fighting games because the core (interesting part of it) is the stuff that people seem to most often have the hardest part grasping as they obsess over if they can do the inputs for a combo rather than learning to space and the more mind game side of things. I guess there are no big combos to learn but also no randomly mash out a combo also. I dunno it seems interesting, curious to see how it will shape up once people have had some more time competitively.

I'm not really in tune with the fighting game genre, but hearing that this costs 60$ makes me feel like it's pretty much dead in the water until they start cutting the price in half. I might be wrong though, but i just don't see it.
