Steal My Sunshine: Episode 10

To everyone complaining about the eating, how do you know they're not trying to break into the thriving Social Eating genre?

For the record I don't mind eating in a video if it's few and far between and they're not literally talking with their mouth packed. Just keep that shit out of podcasts and we're cool.

Some people just keep constantly looking out for things to be mad about, I find it's best to just ignore them

Good thing Giant Bomb is a personal driven site first and foremost, and not a site that needs to follow every strict rule unless they themselves say so.

I remember when Ryan Davis spilled some whisky on the desk next to a keyboard during a livestream, and no one gave a shit. I'm totally fine with that.

I use to defend this game. Looking back now, however, I realize the only good levels are the hub and the first level - everything else is tedious and shitty. Even the theme park, which should be awesome, fucking sucks to play through

We haven't even seen my least favorite part yet: trying to steer a little boat on a lake of lava with one bump against a wall killing you, which I think is a required part of the game as it may come right before the final boss. I distinctly remember that thing handling like a nightmare, and I was fairly decent at the rest of the game, so it makes me wonder if the crew will have the same problem with it that I did.

I think it was on the recent PAX West panel Jeff talked about how got an 8 even though he didn`t care much for it. The reason was that Gamespot gave the game points in different categories and then would put them together to form a review score. I wonder if other outlets at the time used a similar system? If so that could explain it since for example the graphics and sound of the game is pretty good for it`s time.

It could also just be that Nintendo games always get good scores no matter. Skyward sword has a 93 on Metacritic even though it seemed like a lot of people found it disappointing. I don`t know if it`s just nostalgia or if people are afraid of fan outrage, but it seems like even heavily flawed Nintendo games tend to get amazing scores.

While the eating didn`t bother me too much some people obviously though it was grating or annoying. Just because someone does not share your opinions does not mean they are only looking for things to be annoyed at. If a lot of people found the eating to be something that diminished their enjoyment of the video we should at least consider if we could solve their problem. It`s only polite.

They have cough buttons but choose not to use it (or maybe Dan broke his/got banned when he was screwing with it in pre-show a few episodes ago). Its kinda funny the amount of rage that is causing.

I'm a relatively new subscriber, but Mario Sunshine remains my favorite premium content right now. This one was amazing. This game is something else.

@rocketskates: FYI, deliberately misunderstanding a statement is a standard troll tactic. As is trying to put words into another person's mouth.

Jeff expresses his opinion on Sunshine when it comes up in conversation. He doesn't seek out new videos and incessantly comment on them.

If you think Sunshine is a bad game that's fine. I don't think its aged particularly well myself. So put your opinion out there and move on. Don't repeat yourself endlessly. That's just annoying.

Yes! Amazingly I got the lily pad one in about 10 attempts; turns out steering it is not too bad if you aim forward + left/right to keep your speed in check.

This episode was hilarious.

1) I don't care about this game. I barely have an opinion about it outside of not wanting to play it. "Repeat (myself) endlessly," uh, hi, you're attacking the wrong person, although I don't recommend attacking anyone about this.

2) Posting a video about something here is pretty much the same thing as bringing something up in a conversation. This is the silliest...SILLIEST thing to be getting upset about, especially since the staff members are trashing this game better than any of these comments ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You're right Alex, the visual language around those valves isn't great. But the English language around them is. You can talk to one of the NPCs in front of it and he straight up tells you to stomp it.

People are saying this is the best episode of still my sunshine. This is the best piece of video content on giant bomb period!

I can't fucking believe they finally clicked on the "totals" section of the map. I've been waiting for that since day 1. Probably the most useful thing in the game.

I busted a nut over what happened to Dan near the end. OMFG WTF.

I don't find the series frustrating the way some people do but the fact that they almost never talk to NPCs bothers me.

Although in this case Vinny figured out to stomp the thing quickly enough anyway.

I hit the left arrow key so many times on this one. I could watch their reactions to Dan clipping through that block all day.

Well, this is an online series. I'm sure if they played it on their own time they'd talk to NPCs and would figure stuff out on their own. But since they're trying to get through the game relatively quickly they just have Dan tell them what to do.

The biggest pain i've had in this game is when you have to take yoshi on the boats out to the island to get to the secret level. I've gotten there once then died in the level.

Holy crap, the trials of the Durian Fruit in this level.
