Sounds like the audio gate is set way too high again. The cutoff when everyone stops talking is *SEVERE*. I feel like I have to play muzak in the background so I don't go crazy from the random silence. I assume that has something to do with their audio issues over the last couple weeks.

Huh... I had never heard of Analogue and their products. This seems super well made, to say the least. I'm intrigued.

The mini nt seems like the better buy for what you get, but is currently sold and considerably more expensive

Is it fair to expect free updates that would eventually let that thing play games from all 16-bit systems? Isn't designing these FPGA implementations of console hardware extremely complicated and time consuming?

It's all speculation at this point - whatever they do will need to be balanced by future business plans. I wouldn't be surprised to see the 8-bit Nt mini cores ported to the Super Nt - I don't believe they have any current plans to revisit the Nt Mini or other 8-Bit consoles.

As for more modern ones? Far more questionable. The folks at Analogue have strongly hinted that the MD/Genesis is their next project; I'm sure they don't want to cannibalize potential future sales by releasing a Genesis core for the Super Nt.

Additionally, Kevtris (the guy who developed the cores) says he hasn't done any significant work on additional 16-bit cores, so even if they do show up, it won't be for a while.

That Rock 'n' Roll Racing version of Paranoid is so good.

Every time you blow on a cartridge connector you're adding moisture to it, corroding it faster. Friends don't let friends blow cartridges.

Kevtris also made the HDMI-NES mod for existing NES hardware. Still uses the FPGA but intercepts video data from the NES. Google gametechus for more, him and Jason have long videos explaining it.

The x-ray feature is pretty bad but it's also pretty great.

@autechresaint: At one of his concerts in Asheville NC, the opening act was playing, and my buddy and I realized Squarepusher was jamming along with them DIRECTLY in front of us. We got to shake his hand and exchange hellos. He seemed nice enough. The concert was unforgettably awesome. It was during his tour for Ultravisitor.

Love these kind of streams! Brad gets all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed with the loading of each cart, and DAMN if that isn't infectious :D

Super Mario RPG has an SA-1 chip in it, and the stock Retrode (whether original or 2) simply can't read it. The SA-1 actually checks for the presence of the console's lockout chip and if not found it refuses to provide any data, and there's no such chip (or possibility of any simulation thereof) in the stock Retrode. Or something like that. It's too bad @brad spent so much time trying to get it to work; it wasn't going to work no matter how hard he scrubbed the cartridge with alcohol-soaked q-tips or jiggled the USB cable.

If flashed to at least firmware v0.22 AND the so-called "enhanced cart adapter" (which among other things provides a simulated lockout chip) is plugged inbetween the Retrode and the cartridge, SA-1 games can be read, including saves. But I'm not sure where one would acquire one of these adapters at this point.

At some point during the stream, Jason mentioned that PDP was making some fighting game controllers with six face buttons. Is there a new version of their Versus Controller line or something? I love the Xbox 360 Versus Controller, but it's become much more difficult to find them for purchase.

If my memory serves correctly you hold L, R, and Select then had to go through the whole list of names to get to Olaf in Rock n Roll Racing. Boy did I play that game a lot.
