Enjoyable match for sure. Why don't I get to see those kinds of defensive plays in pubs? As soon as you lose a rack people lays down and cry. If you're not too far behind, you have a good opportunity to turn it. High ground, damage and true sight from towers. Easy (well maybe not easy).

Guess it demands a bit of communications, though.

More of this please. Would love to see a captains mode sometimes for some deeper thoughts on hero composition.

I'm really starting to love these. I still haven't played a real game against people but damn, these are fun to watch.

I'm terrible at this game, even against bots but enjoying these.

Wish they'd explain some of the lingo however a bit more often.

I don't think I will ever understand the appeal of spending money on pointless cosmetic items. You might as well flush money right down the toilet, especially when spending money on a dice roll for that pointless item.

Kinda happy to see the other team win after the un-pause fiasco. Good watch none the less.

@spicyrichter: I recommend coop vs. hard bots (5 human players vs. bots). You'll learn more and earn XP and items without the stress of win/loss stats.

@rptrees: I think Brad was mostly doing it for the sake of the live stream, but I see your point.

This is the first thing to make me want to play Dota 2, you should've waited a minute or two before unpausing, even if you were streaming, and Bodega is my favorite Giant Bomb person after the production team.

enjoying these videos, i think a bit more explanation would be helpful but it is still enjoyable

People bitching about unpausing: If you know in advance that you're going to need a lengthy pause in the middle of the game, you shouldn't start matchmaking in the first place. Besides the fact that it's just plain rude, it's unreasonable to expect 9 other players to sit around and wait for you.

I'm perfectly happy to wait if someone disconnects or their computer crashes, or if their game is bugged somehow, but I have a lot less patience for someone who expects complete strangers to tolerate their disorganisation.

I've played other online games where the game lasted for an hour and the game didn't allow pausing. So seeing Dota get paused feels really weird.

Could we see Brad do a true public game to give viewers an idea of what others face when they don't have dota friends to get them up to speed?

Except for the reasons Brad listed where his buddies wanted a pause. That's totally fine, right? Nah, I still think that was douchey, as if you can't wait 2 minutes.

That unpausing was rather petty, poor show.

I actually saw a guy in Dota with a Saga avatar, I gave him props and he said nobody else ever mentioned it. I thought it was pretty popular.

Yeah. The unpausing was pretty BM. Totally legit, but a shitty way to play.

Even the very rare non-ultimate can disable through BKB, such as Naga Siren's Ensnare and Lone Druid's bear's Entangle. Also Skull Basher will proc a stun that goes through BKB.

Dick move unpausing like that you guys. You should all feel bad.

Yeah guys, unpausing = not cool. Though I understand it for a stream, I always wait when playing pubs.

And yes, this got me back into DOTA2 after swearing it off for a year (I've been playing pretty hardcore since 2003 with the first DOTA maps and then Allstars). Amazing how much you forgot, and how much you don't forget.

I have played League for the last four years or so off and on. I became a premium member to learn about some Dota 2. Brad you rule thanks.

Except things can come up unexpectedly that require you to pause the game, you know like when Skype was jacked on Sunday's stream and Brad wanted to pause for a minute to try and get it working. I guess he was in the wrong too for pausing a game, the nerve of him!

Laying down the jug healing ward with pugna's anti-magic globe next to you = BAD IDEA.

Also, I'm still so unreasonably happy that Brad is getting into Dota 2.

Jesus. If adults who know they're being watched act like that, what is the average DOTA player like?

It's probably some kid whose mom is yelling at him to unload the groceries. He asked for two minutes as was back in three.

Maybe the standard etiquette is that you're all expected to be jerks to each other all the time but to an outside observer it looks like zero class.

So Invoker is Kael'thas right? Some of em still look way too much like Warcraft III dudes.
