I was thinking sending in a question. Perhaps it sounds kinda rude, but give it a thought.

Is it possible that the whole controversy behind the production of RDR2 was 'planned' so it would get more publicity? I mean, not even 2 weeks before launch, and every website mentions the game and its developers working hard for it.

We all know these horrendous hours aren't new to the industry, and we all know how difficult the industry is, including getting exposure. I think this game would have been fine without the controversy stories hitting the news, but it definitely helped.

Come on, friend. That's disrespecting all the work people have put into those stories about R*, not to mention the overworked employees time, and R* clearly is guilty (w/ putting out the "Thanks" list for example). Not everything has to be a conspiracy. Don't be that guy that tries to galaxy brain everything into a false flag. This ain't it, chief.

I haven't listened to the rest yet but the fact that the "new blood" bat vs knife debate ending without being able to be shared because of how brutal it must have came off sounds like the perfect way to succeed the original debate XD

All of the intentional slow stuff sounds dreadful. I get the 'tone' but this is a damn videogame. Let's not make me waste time just to watch the same animation for the umpteenth time.

The Red Dead/Metal Gear mashup bit was amazing.

Dan hates doing the dishes as a kid, but never actually washed the dishes as a kid since he just put the dishes into the dishwasher. Classic.

That segment was so good, i was bummed that Alex couldn't take any more of it. I was honestly read for at least 5 more minutes of that.

The reaper mini learn to paint kits Vinny mentioned are pretty good for starter kits. You get some basic minis and all the paints to follow the instructions.

You want to make sure you get paints for minis as other acrylics can be way too thick and obscure all your mini detail.

Reaper also makes a bones line of minis. They are cheap and I would say a good place to start. You don’t have to build them and they don’t have the prep requirements of metal, resins, or plastics.

Brushes come in tons of sizes. For a starter painter, I wouldn’t go smaller than a size 2. Even as you advance, those 0, 00, and 000 brushes are ones I would avoid.

With Nintendo cloud saves Jeff was stunned that it wouldn't function with every game in the past. And with the PSN name change it's like: 'That's a little too vague but whatever.' I think it's equally bizarre.

This is a bullet they should have... bitten... uhm a long time ago.

@buddyleer: I know I sound rude, but some stories don't 'just' come out. Sometimes, like strikes, it's in collaboration with the employer to avoid huge commercial disasters. For example, there is always a meeting between the parties of public transport, because they know a sudden strike won't only hurt the employer, but also the travelors.

This is why I say that it was 'planned'. Obviously, I don't know how their meetings went (if they did ofc), but eventhough it's considered bad for the image of the employer, it sure meant free publicity. R* was ready to bite the bullet as it could have meant big money in the end.

As commerce goes: bad publicity is still publicity.

@jdillinger I'm just telling this as a hypothesis. I'm not saying this is true, but it totally could be possible. Think about lobbyists: they indirectly try to influence a party through different ways to their benefit.

That being said, it's like any negativity around this game is instantly and unfairly being attacked. Like the videoreview of gamespot: they totally gave the game a fair rating with a well-versed review, but it got a crazy amount of dislikes because (and I quote) "the writer didn't sound excited". I mean, come the f* on..

To be honest, I'm ready for some slow realism in my open world. The Ubisoft style open world is so boring and bland to me now that ALL of their open world games are the same, and other open world games are following suit. Red Dead being delibrate with it's actions and animation sounds fantastic right about now.

Wow. Hellgate London is not a game I've heard of in a long time. I was super hyped on that game, I pre-ordered it and bought the lifetime subscription because I was previously really into diablo 2 and this had a bunch of the same developers. I got super burned on that purchase because that game got shutdown really quickly after release because the company tanked. Never pre-ordered another game in my life. Expensive lesson learned.

@basanakin: I sincerely doubt any company would want to be known for having an abusive work environment, as that can ruin the company. Its not some shitty vlogger we're talking about here. There's a lot at stake with a game this big. And like you said, its R*. They're not desperate for free publicity, they're one of the most successful game devs in the world. Heck, their marketing budget is probably in the hundreds of millions.

That whole Metal gear/Red dead reminded me why this is my favourite podcast of all! Couldn't breathe for that whole segment, I would happily just listen to a full pod of the guys doing Red dead/other game crossovers like that.

Dan learned to do dishes from Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead if anywhere.

When Vinny and Dan team up, NO POWER ON EARTH can stop them.

I could go for a whole podcast of that cowboy-metal gear talk. Also that rapport over the office medical stuff. Thank you guys so much for being so positive and always having fun on the show. Always makes me laugh and smile.
