On this very special FREE edition of the Powerbombcast, the gang all recount their experiences with the newly launched WWE Network, and inevitably end up questioning whether they have the intestinal fortitude for watching terrible old wrestling. In addition, we talk Elimination Chamber, Wrestlemania, ill-gotten Ribera jackets, and the future prospects of NXT.

I haven't cared one bit about wrestling for like a decade, yet this podcast is one of my most awaited feature on this site.

Maybe it makes me feel nostalgic.

You know... I just realized something while looking at the image for this podcast. If Vinny put on a greasy wig, a leather jacket, and some sunglasses, he'd probably look a whole lot like X-Pac.

Hearing people love Elimination Chamber makes me wonder whats going on. The "Holy shit" chant when Seth Rollins went through a table felt...odd. I remember when "holy shit" chants we reserved for things besides an obligatory table bump. I am highly disappointed I predicted the elimination order of the final match and Bryan attacking Kane felt SO forced and only there to push the WM match or something. I just...I don't know anymore. I feel WWE has been so low for so long that anything marginally "ok" is now "amazing!"

Brock Lesnar is absolutely terrible. He's boring to watch, he's boring to listen to, and he literally screams like an injured baby. Would be interesting to see Undertaker become the in universe mentor for Reigns.

This is too sincere for me?

I thought it would be more cynical and catty about wrestling. They seem to genuinely enjoy it...don't know what to make of that. Its all inside-baseball, I find it hard to follow.

I'm still amazed at how much I like this podcast, having had no interest in wrestling for about 10 years. Guess that says something about the people on the podcast. Great episode!

I cut the cable so all my wrestling comes from HuluPlus. At first I was worried that the 90 minute RAW would be crap, but I have to say it is by far MUCH better than the 3 hour RAW. Its much snappier, hits all the high points and just feels like the way RAW should be.

I'm setting up a TV tuner card in my PC soon and will be DVRing the local Portland wrestling.

Got to love the wrasslin!

My little sister once put me in a crippler cross-face. She actually pulled with all her weight and the noise that came out of me would best be described as a 'yelp'. I also once rock bottom'd a friend on snow that turned out to be mostly ice underneath.. took him awhile to walk that one off.

Guys this really needs to be on Itunes so I can subscribe the hell out of it and hear about this ridiculous crap all day during work.

Since it's usually a premium feature, they can't have an publicly visible feed. Premium users do get a link to a password protected feed that works in iTunes though.

Nailz wasn't the fake Undertaker. That was Brian Lee, aka the guy who looked like Undertaker in the DOA gang back when it was 4 guys instead of two.

Anyway, I had been wanting to hear an episode of this since it would be the main reason I subscribe to the site. I'm pretty much sold at this point, just setting aside the money for it now.

Oh, and Lesnar is great. Good match guaranteed just about every single time. Plus that weird high pitched shriek he does rules.

I've been wacky fantasy booking "Undertaker transferring his powers" in my head for like 15 years now. Never thought of Reigns for the role, but that's a great choice. I prefer my wrestling storylines super dumb and ridiculous, and it wouldn't get much more ridiculous than that.

Just right click the RSS button below the episode description, and copy the address, then paste it into iTunes' "Subscribe to podcast" window, and you'll be prompted for your GB username and password when it checks for episodes. It's the same feed you'll get the ad free versions of the Bombcast in (though I'm not sure who'd want to listen to those, since the ads are hilarious).

This podcast is fantastic. It doesn't give me any reason to watch wrestling but it sure as hell is entertaining and informative. I can't stand to watch the modern stuff but I keep up with enough Botchamania to see how bad it's been for the past few years. This has been the perfect group of dudes to have for a wrestling/gaming podcast. And Jared getting a 2K gig? Shee-it for a guy in such crippling debt he sure goes through a lot of cool ass jobs.

I think Batista being winded all the time has something to do with his tattoo coverage. I can't imagine it's very easy to sweat with that kind of skin. I don't know dudes it just sounds like WWE is having a hard time transitioning their star power for a new era of talent more than anything. Hope things go better for their streaming service. I'd like to hear you guys riff on more TNA stuff even if it's very unpleasant to watch. Your suffering would make me very happy. Thanks and keep up the great work.

I've never understood "professional" wrestling, I've always found it to be really dumb (and it is, but maybe that's the point). And I still have no interest whatsoever of ever watching wrestling. Having said that I'm listening to this podcast. It's actually been kind of interesting listening to this group talk about something I know nothing about.

Ughhh, some of these fantasy booking ideas are really terrible, as always. Roman Reigns being the "new Undertaker"? Feuding him with Taker, already? He needs to break off of the Shield, get a new attire, and a solo identity before being put at the biggest stages against the biggest talent of that show. Maybe in a year or two, but right now, Roman Reigns needs to establish his own identity. Lesnar/Taker is a pretty perfect match considering the two's real life animosity against each other (check out footage of him confronting Lesnar at that 2010/2011 MMA show).

Cena/Taker will happen probably, and it'll be awesome, but ending the streak at this point is pretty pointless. I don't think anybody really wants it to end, either. You don't have to beat Taker to be put over by him, at all.

I agree that Bryan needs something going for him, and at this point booking him against Triple H is probably the likeliest storyline candidate.

But, in a lighter note, I'm really digging these old video game wrestling themes as the theme to the show.

Oh fuck, after listening to this, I for some reason got the idea that I should check up on the state of wrestling in Sweden. Apparently our first wrestling association started in 2002, featuring inspiring wrestler names such as "Aids Atom" and "Twisted Retard". The wrestlers active today seem to use less insensitive names, though they mostly seem to lean on really bad puns.

I managed to watch about three minutes of this before succumbing to the voice in my head endlessly shouting "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" (sorry, no English subtitles):

But hey, I read that one Swedish wrestler got into WWE recently - Sarah Bäckman, or Shara.

Subscribed to the WWE Network after listening to the podcast basically, I immediately had to check out the NWO Souled Out event just for the intro, since Jeff's description was so incredible. Its been a few days now but I gotta say I've really enjoyed the network so far, aside from a few hitches its pretty much all you could ask for. It was also great to relive one of my earlier childhood wrestling memories, the infamous...SHOCKMASTER!! Fear The Shockmaster, fear him. Check the network out though even if your just curious, the archives alone are worth the $10.
