We have truancy laws here in the States, but enforcement varies wildly. I admit that I only know this because of The Wire, which is a fictional account of life in Baltimore, so I'm sure there's other examples.

And the fucked up thing (which I think Jeff might be alluding to) is that truancy laws in the US are response to Federal funding requirements ($ per student in school x number of days). The reason you have to legally go to school in the US is because the schools want to maximize their funding. This is the same reason schools are persistent about giving out free lunches.

Sometimes I feel like I am the only one who hates dogs.

No a lot of people hate dogs. I live with two dogs right now and I can't stand them. Before this the only time I ever lived with dogs was with an ex girlfriend and they always slept in the bed and just were in the way smelling like garbage half the time. The current dogs also like to roll in shit and are shitty small dogs which makes them way less appealing. This is the first time in my life I haven't owned a cat though and even though I'm a cat person I've given dogs a chance many times and they are obnoxious and dumb.

I don't understand when action RPGs like Marvel here are scarred to let players build their characters.

The changes here seem just like the changes from Diablo 2 to 3. Why?

I do like Diablo 3. It doesn't make a game bad, I'm sure Marvel is still fun. But when you can play around and tweak your character however you like it's so much above and beyond that.

What if I want to be dumb and make a heavy weapons specialist Necromancer? Why deny the player that option? By just having a static per character progression it just means that everyones build is exactly the same by definition. That's super lame.

There are options too. I know mobas often have some equivalent option where the game auto buys items and auto distributed ability points. Do that. If the player doesn't want to think at all (or rather the developers are scarred most players fit that mold) and just mash the x button then let them turn on that auto-build option. For everyone else? Let me dump all my skill points in a worthless stat and specialise in the weird stuff if I want.

Maybe it's just me. But this is why I beat Diablo 3 twice and walked away satisfied. Meanwhile I've put literal hundreds of hours into the various Souls games over the last six years. Time that I once put into Diablo 2. Sometimes I just get an idea for a character build so off you go with character 5, 6, 7, etc.

PPAP is a meme in the U.S., but I think it's not as mainstream. So it's mostly people younger than the guys (no offense lol) and like, weeaboos and stuff.

Radio Fish (the artists behind Perfect Human) have a couple other songs, and it has been noted that they all seem to map 1-to-1 to specific Psy singles lol.

I get why people don't like them, but the random ones are my favorite. It is a gaming site but it's also a personality site and watching the duders fuck around is really fun as well.

I always get super jealous of their success when they talk about how they didn't really graduate high school or go to college....sigh. Doing everything right and not succeeding as much as you feel like you should have - I get super mad.

The even more pro way to roll with portable Internet in Japan is to hire it before you leave, then you can pick it up at the airport or hotel, I've done that twice now. That way you get two separate MiFis to roll around with.

i don't care if the game murdered your family in the end, if you willingly spent 4000 hours with it i'm pretty sure it's damn near/is your favorite game ever.

Jeff story about his airsoft MP5 reminds me of when they got that box of airsoft. Jeff shot the wall and it ricochet off the wall in an 'alarming manner', but I think only he noticed.

@zaldar: they succeeded in large part because of working hard for a long time for free (or almost nothing) and because Jeff is a baller as it turns out and they managed to hang with him.

I like Perfume and Capsule. I think the same person behind the scenes is creating the music for both.

@zaldar: You must be very new to capitalism and the free market, Duder. As long as you work hard and make a valid stand inside a part of the industry, you usually get a foothold. Not only that, I think at least half the Staff has a college degree and/or major expertise in the field.

@dystopiax: I did not know that and I usually know about asia related things. Maybe I'm out of touch with The Memes™.

EDIT: I never thought something like Alarm für Cobra 11 would ever be mentioned by anyone even remotely related to Giant Bomb but here we are. We live in interesting times indeed.
