I'm probably setting myself up here, but FFXIV is really good and just keeps getting better. I've been playing casually for years, and it just keeps me coming back. It's a beautiful and cohesively crafted Final Fantasy world to explore and be a part of. It has kept revealing its depth and its finely tuned design as I get further into its narrative which I've also grown to enjoy quite a bit. They seem hellbent on making a good game, and it's the best mmo I've played. Great quality of life improvements, great dungeons, huge epic zones and cities, and a really fun job/combat system. I tank with a controller which has taken some learning muscle memory wise, but it is fun when you get it. Lots of awesome armor. Ok, I'll stop. It's great though. Yoshi P should should probably run square-enix.

I liked the game selection a lot this week. Interesting how much the choice of games affects my enjoyment of UPF.

Jeff and Brad reacting to "Loreframe" was such a great moment. They still play off of each other so well. Funny pun---in it's own way---but that reaction sold it and was expert.

Top Golf is 10 minutes away from my house. Pass by there every day to and from work.

I played like 40 hours of warframe near the ps4 launch without spending any money on it, enjoyed it a ton, bought 40bucks worth of stuff to support the devs and then haven't played it since hahaha .

I REALLY Like warframes style, should really get back to it.

The end is nigh looks serviceable but not very fun or original. Like, it doesn't seem to offer anything you wouldnt find in a ton of other games.

Godhand is so goshdarn dorky in a cute, childish ,'cool when you are a 12 year old boy' way. I love what its going for and wish more stuff like this would get made today. The gameplay is fantastic as well if you dont mind a game that controls very differently from the norm.(which, in my experience, most people do seem to mind haha)

As someone who played WoW on and off since the beta, it offers me nothing anymore. Classes got so dumbed down, everything did. It had its time and plenty of mine, but I get nothing out of it now.

The depth the jobs(classes) in FFXIV is miles higher than other mmos, and they're super inventive. Even the most basic of a class seems to require far more from you, and have far more mechanics to it than something like WoW.

I definitely think people should give the game chance, it is harder to get into and far less casual friendly than WoW, but if you're maybe looking for that( or just getting sucked into a FF world) its 100% worth it.

Man, Warframe has such a cool aesthetic, I love all that dark sci-fi, bio-mechanical stuff. I just wish it wasn't a grindy loot shooter. I've tried getting into it a couple of times, but eventually the repetitive missions and mounds of different resources and upgrades to keep track of got overwhelming. Also, it's just mmo enough to detract from the cool setting, especially when you have 4 people with constant particle effects popping off.

Is it more feasible to play through the solo story missions these days, without having to grind out specific mods and stuff? Do you miss much interesting content if you can? Last time I played was probably two years ago or so. It was definitely post-space suit missions.

Rorie needs to find a way to manipulate the timestream so he can be on all content.

@jeff when in character select, you can enable competitive mode which negates lvl caps. Your losses in Injustice were mostly due this.

I really like Warframe, but the learning curve is insane. It's one of those games that you have to have somehow tell you how to "play properly" before you can actually enjoy it, because there's no real introduction and everything is totally overwhelming until you've put in a dozen hours.

It's grindy, but the free-to-play mechanics are very generous.

Rorie not believing in Beta Ray Bill is my favourite sequence or moment for 2017.

I'm so happy God Hand made it at last. That game is funny in a lot of intentional and seemingly unintentional ways, but it's also got really good, unique combat gameplay. Jason and Ben did great at it, especially considering they played it like Brothers.

Even if the gameplay in The End is Nigh isn't great, that music seemed incredible.

That writer group that Brad talked about The Vampyre coming from is also where Mary Shelley wrote/started writing Frankenstein. It's kinda nuts to think that two of the most massively influential horror books came from that same event.
