Are the Lalilulelo actually the Ariloulaleelay?

Since Abby asked, here's my pitch for a new series where Dan plays a game he'd probably hate: Kerbal Space Program:

Dan, the Kerbal newbie, attempts to land a Kerbal on the moon safely, with Abby assisting. No need to get the Kerbal back, just get a living Kerbal on the moon.

Vinny, the Kerbal veteran, has to get a Kerbal to Mars AND back again, with Alex assisting.

It's a race. Whichever team accomplishes their goal in the shortest overall cumulative time over the course of the series (or in the fewest number of episodes) wins.

Dan will hate playing it, but Dan also hates to lose, and that will carry him through. He'd be so terrible at Kerbal, it would be hilarious.

I’d actually like to see Dan and Vinny play through Persona 3.

I´d love to watch Dan be forced to bear witness to its delicious BS first hand. After watching Ben struggle with KH1 though...maybe it would be better to just dive into the weirdness of KH2 right away.

@jacksukeru: I still believe Ben would have had a much better time if he paid attention to the cutscenes to know where to go, much as is necessary in these early Metal Gears. It is true that KH2 is when the series became something truly special, but even if they did start there I would say they need to at least watch the cutscenes for KH1 and CoM. Without those a lot of the context for the rest of the series is lost.

@gregalor: hahaha yea I can see that. That game is very "beta", and I don't mean quality-wise. It definitely seems like a game McGruber lovin Dan would hate with a passion.

Didn't Dan say he played Chrono Trigger and some other JRPG and liked them? If he's to suffer through a genre he's completely alien to, it'd have to be classic point & click adventure games. I can't think of a genre he'd hate more. But if he thinks MGS was ground-breaking in its cinematic storytelling in 1998, he might learn to appreciate some adventure games after seeing what they were doing back in 80's.

It's the genre that invented the term "cut scene" after all...

In my fantasies where I work at Giant Bomb (shut up, I'm sure I'm not the only one) my constant pitch would be a series where I guide Dan through the main 3 Kingdom Hearts game ala Metal Gear Scanlon.

I call it: KingDan Hearts.

woooowww that ending. This is such a good game XD! Poor Dan.

That's some Mario Maker bullshit at the end there, but to be honest I expected it. (it's a very Kojima thing to do) I dont have much hope for them knowing what's going on when/if they come back to this after e3.

I can't believe that the whole game is written in iambic pentameter!

Surely the Telltale walking dead games are the ultimate non Dan games they are all talking and drama and less so on the action. No cool guy moments.

Games that are 100% not Dan: Steins;Gate (even if I think he would ultimately enjoy parts of it, it would be a STEEP hill to climb).

And I've said it before and I'll say it again - if he gave it a shot, I could see Dan getting into Persona. Something about the way he talks about Stardew Valley just reminds me of Persona.

Those games are garbage.

Technically, it isn't Kojima fucking with the player. If I remember right, it's just how you get back from that area.

@danryckert: I always wonder about this whenever you bring up Liquid's arm: you do remember that it ACTUALLY took over Ocelot's mind during MGS2 right? The psycho-hypnosis came after the Big Shell events, when Ocelot cut the original arm off because it damn near ruined his plans to sabotage the patriots (on behalf of Big Boss). He then secretly replaced it with a cybernetic arm to fool the patriots into thinking it was Liquid going against them in MGS4 while hypnotizing himself to also fool himself into thinking he was Liquid at the same time.
