    Alright so here is some info on an idea I've been mulling over. 

     

    When

     No set date. Will figure that out when more things get sorted. 
       

    Who

    North American server.  
    Members of Giantbomb. 
     Depending on the amount of interest and how much time I and anyone helping have, either have a first come first serve, random drawing for top 32/16 spots or some sort of round-robin. 
     

    Format

     See Who.  Could be round-robin, double elimination or straight bracket (best out of 3). 
     

    Prizes

     Depending on my funds and how contact with Whiskey Media works, I was thinking  
    1st - 1 Year Subscription 
    2nd - 3 months 
    3rd - 1 month 
     

    Issues That Need to be Resolved

      1. Get a tournament licence from Blizzard 
    2. Work with Whiskey Media to see if Gifting or they could give memberships to winners. 
    3. Live stream or not? - I have no experience with streaming or casting so there would have to be some sort of volunteer for that to work. 
     
     
     
    This is unfortunately just a brainstorming/preparation thread. If anyone has any insight or would like to offer some help then it will be greatly appreciated. I will be posting here with any further details on this. Hopefully it all works out well because honestly who wouldn't want a chance to win a free years subscription to here!

    Still wanna get one especially if there is prizes being given away and it also involving another company, better safe then sorry. Plus it only takes like 5min to sign up.

    Also, what if the person winning this tournament already has a subscription? What's the prize going to be then?

    I dunno it seems like Brad is the only one at Giantbomb who even remotely cares about Starcraft 2, watching the others cast the TNT game -while at times kinda funny- was really fucking painful if you might have happened to want to watch the game. 
     
    That said I'd be up for playing in even just a Giantbomb community tournament, with no prizes.

    Actually, Norm is probably as into SC2 as Brad is. He was the one controlling the camera during the HuK and Machine showmatches, and he did an amazing job casting in the last community tournament alongside a GB forum-goer Moztacular.

    Isn't he from Tested, not Giantbomb? Both Whiskey Media yeah, but as I said "Brad is the only one at Giantbomb" who cares about Starcraft 2 ;P

    Brad has participated in two of them (including the last one) and Norm and Will both entered the last one as well. The funniest part is that Norm and Will hit each other in the first round.

    I emailed the billing address for Whiskey Media to ask if we could get a solution to gifting subscriptions, but alas no response. Maybe I will try again in a day or so.

    If you need someone to cast I might be interested (would need a bit of warning to get it all set up).  Probably better to have a pair of casters though.
