Our official response is that the lights here are still on and the development team is working hard every day to get this game built. Team members are in the office seven days a week to deliver Stargate Worlds. Brad Wright is the Stargate expert and a creative consultant on Stargate Worlds who advises us on the story; unfortunately we had not recently updated him on our progress or the impact from the current global economic crisis, and he was not fully aware of the continuing progress on our game. The lights may still be on, but it sounds like they are pretty dim. Darren Summer, who broke the original story over at GateWorld was contacted by Cheyenne but decided not to run a follow up after the talk. Given that Summer writes for an actual fan site for Stargate, my guess is he's sticking to his guns over the likelihood of us seeing a Stargate MMO anytime soon. Balentine's admittance that the project is having some financial hurdles seems to give credence to GateWorld's report of developer Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment not being able to pay its employees for several months, spurning the anonymously created days-since-cheyenne-mountain-employees-have-been-paid.com, which no longer exists.

Gate Re-Opened On Stargate Worlds MMO?

I would probably check this out on a free trial if it happens, assuming it has one(guess most MMO's do) but if you have to actually pay for this if it comes out, I'm just wondering if it even is gonna have anyone who cares....because I really can't see it. Maybe there are a ton of Stargate fans that have been waiting for this mmo to come out that I'm not aware of.....
Well, with Stargate Universe, a new series premiering this fall on "SyFy" (ugh!), it would be a good time to release the game. Just as long as it is nothing like the horrible Stargate Infinity animated series.
You know what? If it does come out, I'd honestly like to try this, even though I don't play these types of games, ever.
I think that the "hype" or whatever that's following this game's long-ass development will spur me to play it.
Hmmm I wish it wouldn't come out the star gate canon and well likeability is all ready low with the last 5 seasons of sg1 and atlantis the movies and the new star gate universe.
I really want it to come out. I am an avid Stargate fan, but this game also seems really cool. There are an infinite number of different environments to explore and the gunplay concept seems pretty neat.
I think the news that an MMO will be trying something new is vastly more interesting than which property the MMO will happen to be using.
OK, Kurt Russell. Why not Escape from New York, then? A free-for-all in Manhattan Prison, with shifting gang leaders and an explanation why there are always new players coming in.
Tell me that wouldn't be awesome.
Snake Plissken would pop in once in a while and blow up everything as a sort of cosmic balancer. Life is cheap, so when you die you die. New expansions would have new, lawless areas outside of Manhattan
