been wanting to make this topic for a couple of days now, hopefully the mods are ok with it (being another Steam sale thread technically) but i think it serves a purpose, or I hope it does. I'll basically list any good deal that is on sale currently in the Steam sale, but that like the topic says, might get lost in the shuffle because they are not daily deals or show up in the main page. The Steam sale gems that get lost in the shuffle
Dreamfall + The Longest Journey pack I vouch for, two of my personal favourite adventure games. The Longest Journey especially was pretty amazing back in the day.
after a quck-ish runthrough of all the stuff marked 5bucks or less, thats about what i found. I tried to stick with only big discounts like 75% upward because most likely that means it wont go any lower than that. there's some good stuff for 50% that i didnt list that might go higher... hmm, i might make a seperate section for those (stuff like the syberia pack, the still live pack, Anomaly, etc). Let me do that now ^_^
I'm definitely picking up The Longest Journey pack before the sale ends.
Another good one is Vampire: The Masquerade - BloodlinesDoesn't seem like a deal until you realize that the game is never on sale. Also it's a great deal at any price.
I'm still hoping for a miracle to happen and those games becoming daily deals, but they'll definitely be mine on the last day.
Yeah, like I really needed to find out about more Steam games on sale (ow my wallet).
I don't know whether to be sincere or sarcastic when I say "Thanks a lot". I'm leaning toward the former but only barely.
This is the first time I have actually taken advantage of a Steam sale; I've got 4 games so far. Too bad I bought Solar 2 like five days before the sale...I lost three dollars!
finished for now, my eyes are killing me so i need to step the fuck away from the computer LOL. I'm not adding Vampire because that's a measly 33% discount (basically what every activision game has) for a 7 year old game. Also, it might get a daily deal. Anyway, hope it helps some folks. Will update as needed.
heads up, Stubbs might possibly be fucking BROKEN. I cant start it for shit, trying to find a fix. I fear $2.50 down the drain
edit: there doesnt even seem to be a fix for it, wtf... removing the link from the list. Can i even be assed to ask for a refund on a $2.50 game tho >_>
edit 2: i actually did put in a ticket, let's see what happens :P hey man, thats $2.50 that could into something else :( no idea how this process actually works, i assume they'll email be eventually
Can any confirm if Oddworld: Strangers Wrath runs on Steam? I want to try that game out but not if it's broken.

Crap! I just bought that at full price(€20) a week ago..Damn you, Activision!
dont really like to tell people what to buy... but again, Aquaria is awesome. if you have ANY interest in metroidvania style games, this is ridiculous for 5bucks. I wonder how long the game is, the maps are gigantic every time i find a new zone (2 hours in, the game really picks up when you can actually shoot shit about 1 hour in heh)
err guys, Aquaria is fucking awesome. Its metroidvania underwater. its like Ecco The Dolphin meets Metroid >_> why have i never heard of this game before? Easily among the best 5 bucks / euros youll spend on this saleBought it, thanks.
Chime - 75% off for $1.25
Anybody who doesn't get this, if they don't have chime already, is a lunatic. My go to puzzle game.

The UI designer for that game came in and spoke to my class at University. I love it.

What's the best way to find these gems as they pop up? Browsing the store for hidden bargains feels clunky.
Prices on stuff really won't change unless it's in a daily deal. So the best way is to go through the whole catalog for an hour or two and note anything you take a liking too down. Wait for a daily deal on that, then by the end of the sale if the daily never comes buy whatever you want that you don't already have.
@Galiant: There's sites like Steam Game Sales that present it in a slightly less cumbersome way, but there's just so much..
I really shouldn't. I don't even have a computer. I should be saving up my money to buy crappy Game Boy games.
Yes to Aquaria, not really to NyxQuest. I played the latter on the Wii when it originally came out and there were zero reviews available, and it wasn't too memorable.
A few more I'd like to point out:
Star Ruler Which takes the RTS-ness of Sins of a Solar Empire and blends in more of the Masters of Orion depth. I freaking love it so far.
Space Rangers 2 a VERY Eastern-Bloc game, taking a 2D style space-sim-ish game and making it turn based, much like the first two Fallout's. From what I've played, it's pretty cool.
Rome: Total War Complete While Rome Total War needs no introduction, this package is currently priced the same as Rome: T W Gold, but contains the Alexander expansion.

This game needs more love. Check it out, people.
When is the last day of this sale again?
Wait, really? I've always wanted to try Sins, and I've heard about MoO when looking for GalCiv2 stuff. $6.80 is pretty good for that.A few more I'd like to point out:

So is it more RTS or 4X?

Awesome thread, thanks for the effort! What he said. I took a look through the catalog earlier but this is much better.
i actually completely agree on Nyxquest, i didnt like it at all, but some people seem to really like it. And like Garshasp, its quite 75% off.Yes to Aquaria, not really to NyxQuest. I played the latter on the Wii when it originally came out and there were zero reviews available, and it wasn't too memorable.
4 hours into Aquaria, fair warning, the maps are huge (i said that earlier but it needs to be said again)... if the exploration part of metroidvania games bums you out, there is A LOT of that here. Im loving it, but i thought i should give that warning.
Edit: added Ghost Master for 1.69bucks, looks kinda cool actually, reminds me of some genesis game i cant quite put my finger on, its on the tip of my tongue... anyway, 81 metacritic (yeah yeah lolmetacritic but still), might be cool?
added Star Rules to the OT, but not the other 2. Space Rangers is 10bucks and if i start adding 10bucks games the list will be neverending. and Rome is only 33% off, which is not really the purpose of the thread. But, your post is here anyway for anyone that wants to snatch those deals :DA few more I'd like to point out:
