The Steam sale gems that get lost in the shuffle
One game I forgot about being on steam that's on sale for half off right now is Classic Archon. Not sure how the new one plays versus the original pc games but it's quite fun from what I remember.

A few more I'd like to point out:
Star Ruler Which takes the RTS-ness of Sins of a Solar Empire and blends in more of the Masters of Orion depth. I freaking love it so far.
Space Rangers 2 a VERY Eastern-Bloc game, taking a 2D style space-sim-ish game and making it turn based, much like the first two Fallout's. From what I've played, it's pretty cool.
Rome: Total War Complete While Rome Total War needs no introduction, this package is currently priced the same as Rome: T W Gold, but contains the Alexander expansion.
Space Rangers is awesome, I didn't even know it was on Steam. I really hope the pack becomes a daily at some point.
Not sure if they did anything new for the Steam version but I've played enough of this from the box version I've had when it came out. Ghost Master is using ghosts to torment sims & perform other objectives. It's a bit of strategy & there's some fun moments in it, seeing that it's damn cheap on steam I'd recommend getting it if it looks interesting to you.
Thanks, I've been meaning to pick up Aquaria when it was cheap.
Edit: Oh, and I guess I could add Chime to that list as well.
Just dove into this one small indie gem called Jolly Rover & liking it so far, in the spirit of Monkey Island series but with doggies.

Ah cool. 4X takes me a while to get into but they're pretty fun. Anyway, thanks for the post as I never would've found it. I'll wait until the 10th just in case but I'm definitely getting it.@Capum15: It's much more 4X, with all the planet, ship, research, ect. management. Plus it has a big4 ass ship builder that lets you design on any scale you want (Though, keeping in mind that a ship as big as a star system is going to take hours of in game time)

Oh holy crap! I got Chime because of this list and for the last 3 hours I've been playing it. GO buy that if you don't have it.
im debating if i want the penny arcade. i've tried to curb my gaming-related spending, but 1.80 for both episodes is fantastic
Super great deal for a dollar. There are only 6 levels though. Each level has a different song and background. I'm hoping since this is the PC I can find some custom levels somewhere.@Rebirth1337: Thank you so much! Was just gonna ask if Chime was worth it.
My suggestions:
Toki Tori
Mr. Robot
Zeno Clash
LucasArts Adventure Pack (only 33%...but still, it's a nice price for three great adventure games and a sloppy movie tie-in)
Ah, right. Still a great deal, though.@valrog said:
Torchlight is 3€.its a daily deal tho, not for the duration of the sale
Edit: Gothic 2 Gold Edition is merely 5€. I think it's been that way for some days now, so it doesn't look like it's a daily deal. Definitely one of the greatest RPGs of our time. Also, Gothic Universe and Gothic Complete Pack is on sale as well.
Be on the look out for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines to get a daily deal. It's on sale right now for $13.99 (obviously worth that, and more) but it might go down even more. If you like good games you'll like this one.if Vampire gets a daily deal, the internet, specifically Neogaf, will explode
@Fjordson said:Haha, yeah. The topic about it being on sale on GAF is what inspired me to buy the game (and make a similar topic here on GB). Couldn't be happier with my purchase.Be on the look out for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines to get a daily deal. @Rhaknar said:its a running joke on Gaf because its only been on sale once (well, at least a proper daily deal sale) since Steam started doing sales. that its even on sale at all for 33% is an acomplishment :P@Fjordson said:Haha, yeah. While randomly clicking through publisher deals, I noticed Darkstar One is 75% off. (at 2,5 € in EU)
Can't quite remember it in details but I did play it - and it's at least a somewhat competent Freelancer/Elite-type game.
I'm in EU though... Not sure if we have the same selection of games, since I couldn't help noticing that we have no Konami releases at all - despite Steam listing everything from them as 50% off.
@Driadon: I played the Star Ruler demo and i was like, "CHRIST this is pretty awesome". then learned about how much you can customise your empire and it was too hard to ignore.

oh BTW, Cargo is going for 50% off for the sale, if you love your job that is, and giant penguins. Thinking of which, I should check out the developers other titles.
Sooo many good things on sale here, never quite seen a steam sale like this where 80ish% is on sale, few things on the wishlist aren't but everything else is. One thing that I found recently is Grotesque Tactics: Evil Heroes recently on steam with the summer sale for half off & was surprised that there's not much more on the site for this darkly funny turn based rpg with some interesting writing, many, scantily clad maidens, killer bunnies & made by some people who worked on the Gothic rpg series.Rather linear & only played a little of it but so far it's quite good turned based RPG but definitely want to keep going with it.
Video on the steam site covers the action pretty well on what the game's like.

As for the second comment, how will it be finished up? In comic form?

In book form. I haven't read through that yet so I'm not sure if the book is complete yet.
Can someone sell me on The Maw? It seems interesting, but what's it like? Is it actually a good game/worth playing?

Excellent little game. Extremely funny with tight controls and quite beautiful art design. Somewhere between an action game and a puzzler, with anti-establishment adventure game overtones. Very cute and almost a subtle treatise on the dangers of rampant consumerism/expansionism. The last part is just my take.
