    The Powerpuff Girls: Defenders of Townsville is an action-adventure game developed by Radiangames and published by Cartoon Network Games for the PC, Mac, and Linux platforms. It can be played using either the art style of the original series or the newer series art.

    Synopsis

    Mojo-Jojo has managed to erase the memories of the Powerpuff Girls powers and he has captured Bubbles and Blossom. Buttercup awakens powerless, in a world overrun by Mojo-Jojo's evil robots. She quickly remembers some of her powers and finds her sisters.

    The game is a metroidvania style action adventure, it also has some elements of bullet hell mixed in. The three difficulty levels are Easy, Normal or Hardcore. The game also allows the player to choose either the new style of Powerpuff Girls or the Original.

    Attacks

    The girls fly around levels with 4 attack types.

    The attack types are a punch and three projectiles (Laser Beam, Energy Blast & a unique projectile). The unique projectile is dependent on which Powerpuff Girl is active. You can charge up the unique projectile and unleash a super powered version of it.

    Unique Projectiles:

    • Blossom (red): Fireball
    • Bubbles (yellow): Ice Barrage
    • Buttercup (green): Shockwave

    There are a total of 14 unlockable moves which are unlocked by searching the map. There are also 5 boosters, only 1 of which can be equipped at the start but a total of 3 can be equipped by finding modules.

    Once you find a Powerpuff Girl, they can be swapped between at any time.

    Enemies

    There are many enemy types but each falls into one of 4 categories:

    • Contact - Needs to hit/fly into you to do damage
    • Ranged - Fires lasers/missiles/weird stuff which you can avoid or deflect
    • Bombs - Explode when you come in range
    • Bosses - A combination of the above 3 and also spawns enemies
